Race X was never clarified by Valve. They are often speculated to have had their own motives & goals separate to that of Xen & Combine.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, if all goes plan. I hope to have Race X be in the game. (probably near the end of the mod) At the least? I'd like to have a few cameos of them (like shadows or sounds and stuff)
