That is how big her gun is though.
I think it looks fine, there's real world pistols that are much bigger.

Yes, you guys are right. After i placed the comment and did indeed noticed that that Alyx gun is bigger as the normal pistol or revolver in HL2.

My problem with this viewmodel is that the two hands absolitely merge together to form this awkward clump around the gun. Possibly it is the rimlight that adds to this awkwardness. I know this is an automatic pistol with harder recoil and such but can Gordon really not hold it with one hand? With his suit hydraulics and all? It would just look better.
My opinion, naturally.
