These designs are just bizarre and wrong, they simply aren't headcrabs, just crab crabs. They have nothing to do with the original designs or beta designs.

I like the designs but the fact of everyone has a shell does not make them apt to possess the body of their victims, if they understand me.
Wtf is everyone mad about? I actually like these designs, they're something different than what we're used to, and they're very good-looking.
The modelling quality is good, but when you're doing a mod inspired by raising the bar, wouldn't you want the designs to be faithful to that?
I loved the poison headcrab from HL2, I wish I had one myself but I don't get that same feeling with this design. It's ugly, not in the way it's modeled because the modeler did a good job but the design itself is ugly. None of them are all that pleasing to look at compared to their original counter-parts but this is just my opinion.
Also, I highly recommend showing an in-game shot instead of a render because Source will never make them look as good as they do in the renders at least not without heavily modifying the engine.
I also find it funny how everyone is getting bombed with negative rep for having a different opinion and the people outright ***-blasting the design are getting praised. I'm not a fan of the designs either but people could stand to drop some constructive criticism regardless of past events or how people think the mod is going.

the upvote system is a way for people to express how they feel about others comments. so in a way its a way for people to express their opinions on others opinions.
the burried comments aren't burried for saying positive things about models shown, they are burried for being butthurt
I actually like this. It's a rather unique take on a design that's become almost a bit cliche, and I think this new design has some personality too it.

Yea I'm not too big of a fan. I think there are other ways to be creative with the headcrab that don't involve changing them so much.

oh god that poisonous head crab model is really ummm something... the normal headcrab is weird, especially the legs. I dont' mind the fast headcrab though. personally I think you should make these models optional.
People complaining about the design of the headcrabs & how they don't fit in with raising the bar, when they clearly stated that they're not only making the mod based on raising the bar but are also giving it their own taste as well. So clearly, this kind of change is to be expected from them

In my opinion, if I never saw headcrab models before, I'd think the fast headcrab looks okay, the poison headcrab is between eh and whatever, and the normal headcrab looks weird. Doesn't mean they're bad though.
AND, the title of the pic is "headcrab alternate species models", so if you still encounter the original/beta headcrabs in this mod alongside these, then I throw my criticisms out the door.
The poison one looks the most alright to me. I don't get why you decided to tackle the headcrabs at this stage but the salt here is going a little overboard indeed. It's giving the poison crab a run for his... venom saliva, I dunno.
They look pretty awesome, but the regular headcrab's shell is just too big compared to its legs.

The poison headcrab looks... poisonous, the fast headcrab is ok. but the shell of the normal headcrab is too big

I like what's happening with the fast and poison headcrabs, but the one in the center just isn't working. The one on the left reminds me of the gonarch, and I love the idea of it. As for the classic headcrab, the proportions aren't right. If the front legs were longer and it matched the headcrab's recognizable silhouette, then perhaps the shell could look good. Unless y'all have some reference material that the rest of us haven't unearthed yet, Valve never gave any hint of going in this direction. I'm not saying you don't have the freedom to invent these things. On the contrary, I encourage exploration. This design just doesn't seem to fit.
I really like the models, they look superb. It would be great to see a video clip of them in-game.

When I was a small lad, the first time I saw Headcrabs I thought they were "Jumping Anuses/Pussies"... Then I discovered they were called Headcrabs...
That Poison Headcrab now literally looks like it has a pussy on its front...
Only the Poison headcrab and the Classic headcrab need to be improved. The Fast headcrab looks cool. The models will change eventually like the green guns.
I will agree that they don't match the ORIGINAL artstyle, so perhaps they should be optional for purists I guess. However I personally think these look far better really. much more crab-like, parasitic. Great job with these!
