GMDX is an award-winning large-scale modification for the 2000 PC classic Deus Ex. GMDX addresses the many flaws of the game, polishes it to a very high standard, and adds new layers of depth that one would have hoped to see in a sequel. GMDX is executed with the strict parameter of staying true to the original design principles that define Deus Ex, and seeks to improve all aspects of design excluding the plot and soundtrack. The cumulative result thus far is said to be, and aims to be the "definitive Deus Ex experience".

The requirements for this seem utterly absurd. I have Trained Environmental Protection, a Hazmat Suit, Level 1 Aqualung, Advanced Athletics, and even doing half the tunnel just for the skill points burns through all of my 18 biocells and quite a few medkits. Nothing I have is raising my biocell or medkit amounts, but that's even more skill points I'd have to invest just so I can get a handful of not terribly interesting items and 100 skill points. Even if I had spent everything on optimizing a build specifically for this one area, I am not sure I wouldn't be either taking too much damage from the biohazard or drowning. Edit: Okay, I discovered that with a well-placed LAM, I could destroy the radiation barrels (which magically erased all the radiation from the water... instead of making it way, way worse). My Advanced Athletics and Tier 1 Aqualung could only get me the skill points, though, not the loot. I also don't understand why the loot is so underwhelming, but at least I don't feel bad for missing out on it. Also, sometimes the radiation damage comes back? Not sure what that's about.
