The best option would be optional crosshairs. But for telekinesis maybe have a different crosshair that doesn't seem like it belongs to a gun (IE just a little dot).

(Maybe a different color if you can only push them.) I think a particle effect that surrounds the object would look even better, but that sounds like a lot more work.

Could be easily done (somewhat) with mapping by parenting an env_glow to object, but the glow wouldn't help aiming at them from far away.

I think gameplay aspects like being able to swiftly grab objects is more important than the realism / visual imperfection issue of having a crosshair.

Like nijbu said, make it something different from weapon crosshairs, could be a dot, a circle, a swirl, a stylized hand symbol, anything, you're the artist.

Another possibility would be using autoaim for the hands (except for throwing things), which deals with both realism and ease of use.

Also about the crosshairs. The firearms have a crosshair. The gravity hands, the hammer and the grenade do not have them. I think the hammer and the grenade are fine without a crosshair but I am not sure about the telekinesis hands.

Doesn't make much sense to have a crosshair when using telekinesis but as V1 proved realism isn't always fun. So should the hands have crosshair or no?
