Since the 2020 Retail launch the 2011 release was renamed to: G STRING - BETA and in the future the G STRING - ULTIMATE EDITION is coming. Also don't be confused about the "Developer: LunchHouse Software" part. This is the G String Beta you are looking for, the one made by Eyaura. The display was changed because LunchHouse helped me a lot in publishing the game and this will help us both in promoting our work. Which reminds me: they're making PUNT! Go check it out! Since there is no way to list this on MODDB like on Steam (Developer: Eyaura, Publisher: LunchHouse Software) this is the best solution. Thanks and have fun!

Most likely this will be the final name to differentiate it from the beta and make more searchable on google. And also because it fits both the end-time theme of the game and also this release being the apex of along development cycle IRL.
This way both old players who like the name are happy and new players will be less confused as well- and it sounds cool. Hopefully everyone is satisfied.

INITIAL POST:
During the process of going retail and contacting VALVe the issue of a possible name change came up. It's not that a game with this title can't go on Steam but people are concerned about the marketability of something that sounds like G String, essentially a woman undergarment.
For short it might get lost in a sea of women's undies links on google. The long-term marketability is what's the issue here.
The arrangement is, as always: you decide:
G STRING
or
G STRAND
If you have better suggestions we are open but also this is easiest so the logo doesn't change much. If you think this is an awful idea we stick to G String and forget this happened, again: it's up to you.
