The moon is still impacted by cloud cover & horizon haze, but it doesn't turn it a crazy red or purple now. In the past, the haze would completely wipe out the moon texture, leaving a unicolor circle. Not sure why it would do that. But, ripping out the sun, sky and one of the atmospheric values from moon coloring seems to have alleviated a lot of the gunk.
