Frozen Sky is to be the definitive Shadow of Chernobyl winter-styled mod, focused heavily on complete freeplay while maintaining the uniqueness and unpredictability of the vanilla Shadow of Chernobyl experience.

Within the last couple of months, Frozen Sky has suffered a major set-back. Following a borked OS7 installation a couple of months ago, I had accidentally deleted my primary FS WIP folder . . . leaving me with my last backup which was a year and a half prior . . .
. . . anyhow, I've been able to quickly get the visuals back on track, with a few exceptions - but the biggest hit was in the gameplay portions of the mod. Changes that were made to Cordon, Garbage and Agroprom smart terrains, camps, patrols, etc. all have to be re-done. I have a good memory for what was what, but it'll take time . . .
. . . I DO NOT intend to abandon this mod, though. The Lithuanian stubborness in me won't let that happen, lol. I've decided instead that my primary focus will be on the visuals, and to get that out to the community first; then I'll continue on with the gameplay changes.
Again, though, FS does take a back-seat priority to other projects, and I'm still working on all iterations of AAO . . . as well, I'm engaged in some side-work for some other high profile mods, which I feel take more of a priority to any other WIP I currently have going.

Any updates?
Everything is kinda on hold ATM. The last few months have been a real-life nightmare, with simply too much crap going on. So much so, that I simply don't have the time to focus on any mod projects. I haven't fully abandoned FS yet, I still have some hurdles to clear . . . I just don't know if and/or when I'll be able to get back to it. The project itself has always taken a back-seat to my audio projects, which I'd really like to get around to finishing their final versions soon . . . but don't know how RL is going to play out just yet.
Man, i like this. Not the music :), the game. Wintery theme looks nice. Now you just need the snow...
Nice resident evil music :D
atrodo labai geras, negaliu laukt! :)
yeh but backing stuff up damm it take a while and you dont know when somethings gonna happen to your pc soo but yeh backing stuff up is very important
jesus man. its his choice to continue. i just dont understand why there are so many ungrateful ******** here
It's not just here, man - we've been seeing it a lot over at the GSC forums, too . . . and elsewhere. There's been an influx of users who come across as if we're supposed to be designing our mods for their tastes; failing to realize most mods are simply personal projects of ours.
Give the guy a break, who said he could afford and external dive at this time? Who knows, maybe he just didn't think about that at the time.
Also, Imperial.
I hope that you can get this mod back on track so you can get more fans.
Having an external HDD isn't a problem - hell, I'm running a total of 6 internal HDDs.
Problems arise when you have hundreds of GBs of information between countless different gamedata folders across numerous drives - not to mention tons of stuff for other mods you're working on for other users, and other community mods laying around.
Then, let's also take into account the amount of rawdata I have within the SDK folders, plus other folders that house nothing but audio clips and WIP sounds . . .
It starts to become very hard to remember what is backed up to where - especially when everything is spread out like hot butter on hot toast.
So, with the vast amount of data taken into account, and having a handful of mods under production at the same time . . . it gets a little confusing on what has/has not been backed up. To be perfectly honest, I thought FS was recently backed up to my secondary HDD, but turns out I was wrong - it seems I had backed up my WIP for Lost Alpha, SWO3.1, AAO2.0, and Rebalanced, but completely overlooked Frozen Sky.
