The development of Broken Bonds is still progressing at a speedy rate, with more and more of the Pleiades taking shape every day. Between the addition of new ships and the planet textures that have already been proudly presented, the development team is feeling decidedly positive.

Apart from the technical aspects of the Broken Bonds universe, the writing team is also taking its job incredibly seriously, producing infocards, rumours and news articles for the multitude of stations and planets across the Southern Cross Commonwealth, Medicean Empire and Frontier Systems.

One of the team’s top priorities is building an immersive, believable world inside the lore we’re creating. The main way in which we’re achieving this is rumours that interlink across factions, bases and systems in mini story-arcs that contribute to the Pleiades’ larger narrative.

In a stock version of Freelancer, the New York system was the most heavily populated and densely developed in the game, with 138 rumours being implemented across eleven stations and Planet Manhattan. In the far smaller Sardinia system alone, there are currently 193 rumours spanning six bases and Planet Cagliari.
