The year is 2281. Caesar's Legion holds Denver in it's iron fist, threatening the neighboring settlements and people of the Corridor Wasteland with brutal conquest. To the north, the City of Free Cheyenne remains defiant of Caesar and prepares for war. You have been offered a job to travel with the East Forty Caravan Company out to Free Cheyenne to deliver a package to the Platte Trading Company. Political intrigue, outlaws, and gunfights await you in Free Cheyenne because war... war never changes. Featuring three new quests, brand new factions, and a whole new world to explore, the Fallout: Free Cheyenne Demo is an exciting new adventure to the center of post-apocalyptic America.

Before we begin, I just wanted to give a big shout out to everyone over at Community Creations Con for the opportunity to participate in the event and to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The community managed to raise over nine thousands dollars for charity and I couldn't be more proud. I hope we'll be able to feature more projects and raise even more money next year.

With 2024 well underway I'm pleased to announce that the Fallout: Free Cheyenne has finally reached the point where there's a solid enough foundation that now is the time to begin expanding the project team.

For about two years now most of the effort was to actually understand the entire pipeline of the Fallout modding tools as well as to establish a conceptual framework for Fallout: Free Cheyenne, specifically the setting of the Corridor Wasteland (the factions, the history, the people, etc.) and it's story. Since the demo came out and the basic design principles have been nailed down, it's time to start ramping up the development of the game. But before we get there, let's go over what exactly Fallout: Free Cheyenne is going to be about.

Fallout: Free Cheyenne is continuing the themes of Fallout: New Vegas with it's emphasis on ethics, war, and identity, but this game is also going to explore the meaning of history and the value of time to the human experience.

The story begins with you being offered a job by the East Forty Caravan Company to recover a package stolen by a group of tribals known only as the "Ciphers" before it could be sent east. You and a small team of professionals are sent to track them to the Corridor Wasteland and attempt to recover what was taken. Along the way, you'll be able to resolve conflicts between factions and play a decisive role in the coming war between Free Cheyenne and Caesar's Legion.

The game world map will be the same size of New Vegas, if not a little larger. The Corridor Wasteland stretches from Cheyenne to Denver much like the real life Front Range Urban Corridor, but also encompasses the wasteland town of Laramie and the isolated communities in the Rocky Mountains like Granby, CO. To the east of this strip of settlements lies the Cauldron, an enormous radioactive dust bowl on the former Great Plains that hinders any attempt to expand further east. Those who reside inside this area are few, but dangerous.

There will be four major factions to choose from, each with a dedicated main quest line that will have an observable effect on the world and change the ultimate outcome of the game. Side quests will also be an important focus of this mod. The goal for side content will be about the same amount present in New Vegas.

The mod will also feature nine companions to accompany you on your adventure through the Corridor Wasteland. Each companion will have a story and a personal quest to complete.

And to finish off this brief overview of what can be expected for Fallout: Free Cheyenne I'll share some work-in-progress screenshots from the mod.
