Because it's realistic. In real life, the radiation would be LONG gone. Look at Hiroshima and Chernobyl if you need more proof. The bomb dropped on Nagasaki is identical to the nuclear bombs in Fallout 3.
Chernobyl is far from gone.
Hiroshima/nagasaki has minumal radiation because the atomic bombs exploded 500 feet above the city so not much dust was sucked up in the explosion.
I like the green and it is realistic in the fact that after 200 years a lot of the dust would of probably been blown off elsewhere.
Possibly into the oceans. Hence why Project Purity makes a bit of sense in V6. 200 years and bombs loaded with low-grade uranium (that probably has a small half-life) simply cannot create as much destruction as modern or Cold War era ICBM's.
As for Chernobyl, people may not be living near the reactors yet, but wildlife and greenery have returned to the area, some people think that they have formed some kind of immunity to the radiation.
only issue that i have with the game is that the (cannon) tec has 1950s era, well everything, yet the world ended in 2077, i wish blackisles had thought better than that what was it 15, 16 years ago.
It takes 75 yrs for radition to disapate. So the radiation from Chernobyl is still being blown around the continet of asia.
I watched a doco on chernobyl, apparently, 2 guys fishing in a lake about 2 KM from where the reactor blew up. Died within 1 hr of the exsplosion from severe Radiation poisoning. There Bodys where Black as charcol.
Absolutely beautiful.
Sarcasm?
why put in so much green?

Yeah, I don't see how people who have energy weapons could be so behind us in everything else.
Dude!!! The 1950's style is awsome! Let's go sunnin'!
