Exodus will be a single player, first person cinematic experience set within the fantasy genre. We strongly believe in creating an experience that will affect you emotionally, an experience with scenes and characters you will remember. The project will be an innovation on the traditional role playing game. You will have decisions to make that will affect the way your story plays out. Make a good decision and the game will be easier, make a bad decision and you’ll suffer for it. We’ll have sections of each episode that will follow a linear structure, but most of the episode will be non linear, allowing you maximum control of your character.

Why would someone who can get his hands on a haubergeon and shield wield a wooden-board?

Necessity is the mother of invention. It seems as though the warrior was knocked unconscious (see gash on forehead) and may have lost his sword/mace in the aftermath. It wouldn't seem unreasonable that upon waking up in a hostile environment he would clutch the first instrument of carnage he could get his hands on (the much maligned wooden board.) I would also like to point out that a wooden board is quite heavy and rigid; very capable of inflicting severe trauma. The warrior's mail indicates that other warriors (enemies) might also be wearing mail. Blunt trauma weapons (such as hammers and maces) would be considerably more effective against mail than swords. Thus, the use of a wooden board as a weapon was a very strategic and adept move on the warrior's part. The wooden board is also quite easy to throw, potentially adding projectile damage, and can be lit on fire for use as a torch or to inflict fire damage to enemies. That being said, I hope the game will feature a wooden board you can pick up and use as a weapon (and possibly customize, with some hotrod-red paint?)

While this reply is just a tad late, (by about 6 months) the haubergeon has been looted from the battlefield. Presumably his fellows got to the weapons before him.

Description

This is a concept drawing of our Slaver who basically sells slaves for money. He is extremely arrogant so I wouldn't recommend crossing paths with him.
