European Front is a WW2 campaing in DYOM made for GTA:SA about the importants battle on WW2, starting with Normandy theather and more later the Eastern Front, made it with historical accurate research, good modelling, sounds, skins, etc..
Static defenses were a daily bread for Allied soldiers during the Normandy landings...
Static defenses were normally made up of low-ranking soldiers, whether recruits or foreign legionaries, the latter being the most frequent, such as the Osttruppen.
These low-ranking soldiers were under the command of a German officer. These Osttruppen for the most part did not defend their objective well and almost always fell prisoners at the hands of the Allies.
In this image we can see the recently added Osttruppen Georgians leaving a house and being shot down by American soldiers.
Incorrectly in the image they carry Kar98k rifles, mostly they used Mosin Nagant, SVT-40 rifles and even converted models of the Soviet PPSh41, this in the German operational framework in Normandy for static defenses...
