This mod catapults Empire at War into 2018. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
The Vengeance went through a major size reduction, aswell as a complete roll change. The ship is now a lot smaller and its only armerment are the 4 large mass driver gatlings. They are now used for long range bombardment, like the Broadside and the Marauder. Health will be greatly reduced. This ship is now an artillery ship. Instead of diamond boron missiles it'll fire a barrage of mass driver shots (made a nice animation for the gatlings spinning too)
The role of heavy frigate for the Consortium will be filled by another ship, I'm considering the Venator, but the position is definitly open for suggestions.
A little about the design. This ship was really a hit and miss model. Redid the chassis once, and after that kept playing with parts untill this eventually came out. As the consortium is very keen on their big guns, Aggressor with 2 giant guns, the Vengeance had the 4 huge mass driver batteries ect. I wanted to focus attention even MORE on the large mass drivers, and decided that as an artillery ship the ship should be smaller, but the mass drivers are kept roughly the same size.
Actually started and finished the whole ship in 2 days, when I finished the model itself the uvw and skinning went pretty *fast*, as fast as it could really.
I made several changes to the overall design (moving the cannons from the wing tip to the middle of the wing, more antennea ect.) and I think it looks better for it. I really like how it came out.
I will put out a video showcasing both the Keldabe's special ability and the mass drivers on this in action, probably in the next couple of days, but no promises.
