Tonight I found a 4 year old starbase I built when I went through some of my old files. Spent a lot of time on this when I was really bad at making stuff. Now, we all know I'm still very bad at making stuff, but I refined the process a little over the course of 4 years. Still, leaving this ancient massive time sink to rot is something I just couldn't live with. So I patched its texture up, rigged it, and now it serves as a pirate starbase.

Well, the story behind this one is one of sheer...annoyance? One time I got really ****** I didn't have access to one of Warb Nulls starbase models, the Family Station, which he kept restricted to members of a modding site that has long since up and died called AlphaBlue, which I wasn't a part of. So I thought to myself: "I too, can make fancy circular starbases." So then I designed this and naturally it came out rather inferior to what Warb had made. But it's what I had and I used it for a while, until I got permission to use the Sith starbase from the Ultimate empire at war team, and then this starbase passed out of all knowlage.
I saw the Family Station model, I like this one better actually.
Reminds me of the modding site gunetwork and all of the hoops you have to jump through just to get an armor mod for Fallout NV.
Man J, do you have any more of those forgotten treasures? Amazing work, I really like that round shaped design and the shady underworldish texture. It somekind reminds me of some stations in Freelancer. Damn, now I have to search for that mindbreaking game...
I do, actually, another starbase, but sadly unuvwed and untextured, so I wont be using that one.
