Have you ever tried modelling with Autodesk products?

I doesn't look like he needs to.

Well of course he doesn't need to. You don't need to use any particular product. I'm simply asking if he's tried it.

Yup, I use 3ds max 8 for all my modelling ventures ;)

I'm guessing that's not free though. How expensive is it?

I'm not actually sure if max 8 is buyable anywhere, so if you want to try it you'll have to aquire it by different means. Wink.

Hi =) could you please answer to my commentary about the Victory-Class. Thanks =)

Sistros Nov 18 2015 says:
Hi =) I love what your doing etc, but I think you should "revisit" the Victory I-Class Star destroyer. I like the animations of the wings opening as it is meant to be, but the model itself looks very very different from what we usually see.

PS: Don't forget to add the secondary hangar =)

Keep up the good work =) Sistros

I'll be revisiting the texture, remap the uvw so it works with an ao map, and then send it off to Arvis for one of his excellent signature textures, so it's in line with the rest of the imperial ships.

I also went through your comment history because the links didn't work otherwise. That's a picture I haven't looked at in a while. That victory you linked to is boring as ****, a simple copy paste and scale down of the Imperial class. No uniqueness. No character. No feeling that it is an individual ship class. It represents the apex of lazy, incompetent and uninspired asthetic ship design.

My Victory on the other hand has a much higher contrast to the ISD, and therefor is very distinquishable from the Imperial class. My design has everything the original lacked, character and features that clearly set it appart from other starships, and has been painstakingly designed as such.

If you want a bland, scaled down copy of the ISD as a victory, I fear you'll have to mod it in yourself, I don't do half work, and I most certainly don't like half-assed work, and the original victory is the pinacle of just that, therefor, you wont find that in this mod.

Wow!! What i like most are humble and acceptable modders like yourself -.-'! Not accepting an kind of suggestion or anything... it almost reminds of George Lucas "Star Wars is mine so i can do what the hell i want!" =) Do as you wish with your mod for all i care! I'll simply use another model =)) Nice to chat with you -.-' .!.

Why yes, this is my mod and I CAN do whatever the hell I want lol.

You don't like my Victory because its not canon, that's fine.

I don't like the canon Victory because it's lazy, that's fine.

I explain very clearly why I made the decision to not use the canon Victory and explain don't like the canon Victory. I'd think this is fine too.

You misinterpeting my anger towards the laziness of the Victories designsers with anger towards yourself, now that is an issue. Read my comment again, it is angry with the design and how lazily it was made, it was not angry towards you. That's what you made of it.

Reading is one thing, speaking is another and i may have misinterpreted your t and I've never said I didn't like your model, on the contrary I do like it... what i "dislike" is the absence of the secondary hangar and starboard/port side front sections, between the wings and the bow, those 3 rectangular spaces are for turrets I know, but still I like the more streamlined version of that section. Other than that i think your model very cool.

https://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/26/25287/Vic-II.jpg

Can you see those 4 "bases" of a sort in that section, it is more smoother.

And yes the Victory is supposed to be a downsized version of the Imperator, but i'm not against people tinkering with models, since games, comics etc are also full of changes on many models.

=) Sorry for before.

No problem :)

My model has been updated a while ago from the old render, if you open up the model in the Models folder you'll see my Victory does have 2 hangers, but they both lead to one opening. , it's still visible though, the opening is large enough to see the 2 hangers in the front and back of the opening.

It also has 3 turret bases which I took from my bellator ssd, which look much better than the previous version which just had holes for the ball turrets imo. Still not as smooth as the canon one though.

Yes I saw it Jeroenimo, but was speaking of the primary and secondary hangar bay openings as the ISD.

Your model is not the only one to lack the secondary hangar bay opening, I've seen it on Phoenix Rising and FOC Alliance mods as well. =)

Description

Thanks to Arvis, the Vigil now has a new texture.

I also recently saw that Re was placed in the top 100 of the mod of the year awards, that competition I never participate in. The fact that the mod still got a place in top 100 dispite me doing nothing to promote it I think says something about the quality of the mod itself and the appreciation of the people who play it, and I just wanted to say thank you, it feels good to know ones work is appreciated.
