This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Here you can see the hardpoints and the damage effects. I think it worked out pretty nice.
This ship can actually have all hardpoints destroyed, because its armerment consists of only ion cannons and turbolasers, not turreted, I thought it made the most sense just to condense the ion cannons to 4 hardpoints (in the front) and the turbolasers to 8 hardpoints (in the wings and rear) The 2 weapon systems in the middle are the strongest TL batteries. They shoot dual TL bolts and have 1.5 times the health of the outlaying TL batteries. Same layout as the vanilla Mon Cal cruiser really, just put into double the hardpoints. Engines, hangers and shields are untargetable.
I now consider this ship (finally) done.

It would make sense for mon cal ships to have redundant shields that cannot be targeted.

I very much like the way that the two central turbolaser hardpoints are not symmetrical :) I think it would be good to do a similar thing with the damage fx, if you ever decide to go back to this cruiser of course - they seem a little too symmetrical and regularly spaced along the sides of the ship, and this, I think, reduces realism....? But the particles themselves are very nice :)
