Description
The Vigil is a heavy corvette, designed to hunt down enemy corvettes and be a fighter screener while still being able to support against larger ships with its turbolasers. Scalled at 250 M long.
Has the same armerment as the Tartan corvette, but an additional 3 dual turbolasers and 2 missile launchers. Has 50% stronger shields and 30% stronger hull. Has a power to weapons ability.

i hope you kind of change it to not ruin the appearance of your awesome ships
Actually, completely removed them. No textures will be coloured according to team colour once the mod is complete.

Does it basically make the Tartan obsolete?
Tartan has been replaced by Customs Corvette: Fractalsponge.net
No change in weapons, speed or health. This is basically an upgraded version of that, though I'm still playing with the idea of giving this some downside compared to the customs, because right now as you said, this is just a far more expensive, better version of the customs. Indeed, making that ship pretty much obsolete, except for it's greater speed.
Why not give it decreased shield/hull strength? that'll balance it out wont it?
