This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Once upon a time about 11 months back I joked about putting the Eclipse in the mod. No longer a joke.
I need a break from building the superstructure on the Executor. It's endless city scape building, and I've grown so tired of it I wanted something else. So a couple of days ago I inquired the Discord server (go join us! Discordapp.com ) if there was any interest in the Eclipse and there was. Long story short, Adamancy brought down the hammer again and I started building.
Now, since there was another SSD announcement in progress (Check the vong mod: Moddb.com ) and I didn't want to take the wind out of their sails I waited until now to do the announcement on moddb, so here it is.
I decided to build the Eclipse because while the Executor is New York city in space, the Eclipse is a collection of armor plates, and a very detailed trench. A trench, mind you, that already existed since I built it on the Executor already. This ship will not take long to make but should be hella fun to build. I've already done quite a bit of building as you can see, the build stream VODs are on youtube for those interested: ( Youtube.com )
Short note: The engine section was one of the first things I redesigned since the vanilla Eclipse's 6 engine-layout was absolute garbage. I plan to reimagine several other things like the bridge, superlaser firing system, and surface of the armor. Mostly because the vanilla ship had no surface of its armor. I included several detailed screenshots of changes I made that I think look fairly good, such as the rear hangar complex, new engines (Engines are the Executor's) and trench detail. Enjoy.

In regards of the engines: They don't look bad, but kinda boring I think.

Nice work, though I'm kind of surprised that you didn't go with the massive hangar bays on the bottom slope. Still, it looks great.
He didn't get to the Hangars yet. The superlaser also isn't completed yet. The Spire also isn't done. The Ship isnt completed yet
I know it's not finished yet, it just something I though he would have done early on due to how big they were.

It's amazing to witness the progress of the mod.
I remember some years ago at the start of it how savagely you would respond to people asking about SSD or ground battles. May they rest in peace now.
