This mod catapults Empire at War into 2077. It maintains the game's design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay.
Just that, experimenting, with mountain ranges. There's an AT-AT somewhere in that shot for reference. This is eventually going to be a geonosis map, after many more experiments.
First I plan to make the Geonosis map, and use it as a testbed for my ideas for the ground overhaul, then once I confirm what the game can and can't do, as well as how it handles performance, we can do the rest. This'll prevent the potentially horrible situation of only when all the work is done realizing that the game actually doesn't do half the things I planned, or the performance is terrible. Testing will take some time, but it'll be worth it.
Drop by the stream if you want to see how it's going, pretty much all this stuff is being streamed, from the map creation process to the testing.

There is no way to make a combined ship-ground battle, right?
No that's possible, just not desirable. Landing actual starships like an acclamator would be a problem for balance. I've thought about integrating this into the ground combat system, but I can't do that properly. It'd also be horribly unbalanced.
Will there be X-wings, TIE fighters etc, for land battles?
Manifest says there will be.
Just curious what will be gunship for rebel faction Laat or U-wing. Also will empire use TIE Strikers since they are in atmosphere ships.
I was thinking something with even larger scale in mind - like having a space battle going on across multiple ground battles. In that case the engine would probebly not allow that as land battles and space battles are on different states in matter of environment, right?
I am so happy to see another modding team working on ground overhaul. Wont lie, i am pretty curious what are you going come up with to fix this mess :D
Is it hard-wired into the game for infantry to run like constipated lego?
As someone who hasn't done enough research, I think it's the combination of the code of the infantry themselves and the animations, it might be improvable.
Their pathfinding/behavior (like how they move as a squad) or the animation (like how rebels hop high while moving with their shoulders so rigid they look like their barracks needs new beds)?
game changer... every mod be jealous.
