EAW Remake Light version soon to be released to the public image - Empire At War Remake: Galactic Civil War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Good morning,
I've decided it's time to release a EAW Remake Light version of the mod to the general public. What will Re-Light consist of?
The Re-L release will consist of 2 of the 4 new GC maps, with the Empire and Rebel factions as they exist right now. This means all content like SSDs, Death Star, new maps (as they are right now, 75% finished), new planet props, new economy system, and new heroes. This will be GC and Space combat *only*.
What will Re-Light not consist of?
Ground combat overhaul, all neutrally buildable units like the CIS, Republic, Old Republic, Mandalorian factions, the neutrally buildable Battlecruisers like Mandator II, Subjugator, and Viscount, as well as the third and fourth playable factions, that being the Criminal Underworld and Vong. Why? Short answer, I feel they're not ready for release.
Long answer:
The Vong, while having their art assets done for some time now, aren't balanced to the Remake standard yet. The Criminal Underworld does not have their unit roster filled out, sitting at only about 50% of the planned content. The CIS, Republic, Old Republic, and Mandalorian units are finished stat wise, but I'm not happy with how they're implemented yet. This means ways you aquire the ships, planets they're buildable on, and of course, the whole 9-yards of unfinished content like icons, descriptions, scripts, story events, and everything else. You've seen many of these units in recent videos, but of course, you only see what I want you to see, and that is the finished content.
The light version may or may not be uploaded to Steam, if not, you can simply download it from Moddb.
The Re-Light version of the mod is meant as a teaser to the general public, and to give them something of high enough quality to make them excited for the full release. I also hope it'll garner more support for the mod on Patreon, since the more support we get there, the longer I can spend developing the mod. I've said many times that Patreon is the only reason I can keep doing this, so it's in all our best interests to give people a taste of the quality they can expect from the mod. The Re-L version of the mod will release sometime within the next 2 weeks from the creation of this post.

will this version be able to work on the steam version of SWEAWFOC
without crashes for the most part
Is it Empire at war or forces of corruption? I would still buy forces of corruption just to get this mod!

Steam Halloween sale is most likely from 25th to 31st october. If FoC is on sale (usually 75%) you should get it for five bucks.
