ESF is a fast paced, 3rd person fighter based on the hit anime, Dragonball Z. Select your favorite character and fly, power up, transform, melee, and beam your enemies into pulp. Each character is given signature moves and abilities to compliment different style of play. Some are stronger in hand to hand combat, others are better with energy attacks. Play in three different game modes, deathmatch, team deathmatch, and capture the dragonballs. There is a learning curve so newbies beware. This is not your normal Half-life mod.

I think they will make it better, at least I hope so :), and please do not say such things as "h8r's gtfo", you'll get punched in the face by karma, such as now.

I think it treats all surfaces as equal - we might be able to give surfaces properties....but questionable whether it's worth the effort or not :P I suggested this pic today since it lets you guys see good contrast for how it works.

Well that depends. We can use material properties on specific smoothing groups. So im guessing its possible though itll still look a bit weird on the edges where the 2 smoothing groups meet ^^

I agree with ALIENwoods, the glass shattering like ground/rock/soil is a bit odd. However, in the middle of a fast-paced fight, you'll barely think about that, the effect is awesome in it's own nature and that's what will count, I guess. Gz team ;)

There is allso a second issue.

We can probably do seperate effects on seperate textures. But that would mean seperating the building and glass textures into multiple files.

That would do nothing but increase the load on the game by making it use more textures than with just 1 texture for both building and glass.

Nothing's wrong with it. Does a similiar thing appear when someone shoots a beam? Didn't see in the clips.

but what also might give it more eye candy is to put some building fragments pointing outwards

It looks ok but the way it ends near the building white edge makes me wonder of how it would look if he was thrown closer to the edge :-S
It would have been half a decal near a perfectly undamaged white edge. And since black details like the decal are very visible near/on a white surface that would look pretty bad.

I was thinking...maybe it would be cool if it did something like that around the player after they transformed and the big power blow-away thing happens :) That would be awesome...
