In this mod of Duke Nukem 3D, Duke has a large variety of weapons and gadgets that upgrade as he uses them. As you progress through the game, you will encounter more powerful monsters to match your increased firepower. Based on the popular Duke Plus mod, War of Attrition incorporates many of the same features (including improved monster AI, bot allies, mirrored levels, damage effects, and more). Attrition also comes with over 100 high quality fan made levels and several game modes. Addictive with lots of replay value, Attrition showcases some of the best levels ever made for Duke 3D, adding new gameplay but keeping the essence of the original game intact.

I really love this mod, it's the best one I know for Duke Nukem, pretty much the only reason I play EDuke32 and another reason why I don't tend to play Doom much even though I love it just as much...That's my introduction, sorry if it was useless.

I would like for WoT to have more gamemodes and I know that is much to ask, but from my point of view I just want some very basic ones.

Random Missions, I know for a fact that on a determined level, you will have to get into a "boss level" and fight that boss, ending this gamemode.

Knowing that, is there any way you can make an "Unlimited Random Missions" gamemode? We reach level 15, we fight the boss but it still goes on, we then gotta reach level 30, then 45 and then 60...Absolutely no end, only you can end it. I can see the issue it being a little bit boring, but I'm sure that can be an opinion. Another issue is probably the levels themselves and the coding for higher level aliens, in which case I'm just not even sure how it would be like.

High Score Challenge, is there any way I can make it less "strict"? Every time I play it on "Let's Rock", easiest difficulty in WoT, and I reach the third level, I already get transported to the hardest difficulty "Come Get Some", which I wouldn't mind but I feel too weak. If there will be no changes, can I at least know if there is a way to change this behaviour? Maybe through console commands, through a .cfg and such...

Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. I forget to come here, and I have been working on a new TC. First, thank you for your kind words, I'm glad to know that some people really like this mod :-)

Anyway, the high score challenge is the mode that is supposed to be giving you unlimited random missions. But of course I designed that mode to be extremely difficult. My goal was to make it get so hard that it became impossible, but not too early in the game. It sounds like I may need to tweak it further.

The only major change to a game mode that I plan is for WOA mode. I want to add more maps, but then somewhat randomize them so that it is different each time, while always having the same difficulty curve.

New TC? Interesting, I wonder if it will be more fun than War of Attrition itself. Any sneak peaks perhaps?

And I see there won't be exactly any "easy" HSC or "unlimited Random Missions", but at least you will try tweaking HSC itself. Truly the challenge there is extreme even if you only reached the 5th map (and you're level 7). I suppose you're going to make it so at level 15 we get it hard, then 30 goes hardest and anything beyond that is, as you say, "impossible"?

It still would be nice to have or know a command (cheat or not) that changes level difficulty, heh.

The new TC I am working on is "Duke Forces" which puts Duke in the Star Wars universe and uses a lot of sprites from the 1995 Dark Forces game.
