Its an exploration mod with an horror twist, atmosphere is great and strange. some models are oversized like doors are at least twice the size of the player model but the maps are really big and texture work and ilumination is good.

There may be some internal joke about rusian military hardware with the posters, the 3d model of the rpg was cool though, i dont get it but its amusing.

There's an 'old adage' -- which is that "Ruskys makes some of the best Half-life mods."

Actually, this is a 'young adage' - it's MY adage.

I have played Dopusk 31 all the way through twice: The first time was about 7 years ago and once again very recently. This is a very, very, long 'exploratory' mod. If exploring very large spaces and corridors doesn't excite the 'be-jabbers' out of you, then perhaps this isn't your 'cup of termites,' -or however they say it.

From the very beginning of this mod, you are placed in some kind of a "Rusky" facility with hallways and doors in all directions. You have to explore every hallway and ventilating shaft, from the very, very beginning.....very 'thoroughly' and judiciously......and then backtrack.....just to figure out how to get through the beginning to the train station. Getting lost is very easy and requires a lot of patience and memorization.

There is no combat with 'militants' in this mod.....but you do face a variety of zombies -some are unique and are about 14 feet tall and run very fast- as well as other monsters.

The textures of Dopusk 31 are custom and are generally high-quality as are also some of the weaon models. Scientists that you encounter, ironically, speak in English -though this mod takes place in Russia; the security guards speak both Russian and English.

Some signs are in Russian....others are in Russian and English. Posters of Putin on walls....and military vehicles (space shuttles, tanks, helicopters, etc.) are spread throughout this entire mod. There are some script errors here and there; hence, 'no-clip' cheats are required to get through some doors that fail to open.

Dopusk 31 has been in the past, and still is, by far, one of my favorite Half-life user-made mods. In my opinion it is very underrated. I rate "Dopusk 31" 8.5 stars.

Very large but somewhat repetitively tedious and over the top, mostly using one type of enemy as well.

Oh and btw.. phipe and flippedoutkyrii said something about bugs n' sh*t.. haven't seen any bugs yet. Maybe they didn't install it correctly?
