This game is an extention of the doom universe and will provide intense action on an old game platform (known as the doom engine). With the enhancements of the Doomsday Engine which is a powerful port that adds alot of new features such as:

  • 3D Models
  • Particles
  • High resolution textures
  • Dynamic lights
  • High quality music and sounds
  • Immersive scripting system
  • Alot of other cool features

We are using this engine and not another one (for example Q2's) because we still want to be true (for what it's worth) to the original doom games. So no bumpmapping and other hot shot stuff will be added (maybe later as an addon).

The game will not contain Doom2's standard 32 levels but alot more then that and will be devided into episodes.

The resurrection will feature alot and these things are several that are to appear in-game:

  • 3D models
  • Immerse 3D levels
  • Cutscenes (something that's unique in doom's engine)
  • Alot of other cool stuff

We currently are looking for project members and if you are formiliar with coding in c/c++ or if you are a good texture artist and IF you are interested I recommend you to send an email to get into the team.

Sketches are rolling:
In other news, I drew some sketches for the monsters that are going to appear in this new doom game. Expect the sketches to be viewable in a mere 2 weeks.

they have either cancelled this, or leader is dead...
for example; resident evil infection.... silent_sniper, the leader of the mod, died a while ago....
R.I.P silent :(

Probably everything that comes new with it (a shader system, md3 model support, hubs, hexen in doom format and 3d floors). I have no idea what Skyjake has in store for us with 2.0 but those are some features that will definately be in:)

After deciding to wait for 2.0 I thought I can't let the crowd wait that long for the release of the game, thus the team will be releasing test maps and objects in forms of singleplayer alpha maps to keep those who are interested informed.

I have no idea when we we'll begin releasing these alpha's but i'll let everyone know in time.

After a discussion with Weenuk we have decided to wait for Doomsday 2.0 to use as a base platform. Although 1.8 has several new things, and an optimized netcode, the features that we were waiting for to be 1.8 have never made it in.
So I guess we would be waiting a long time, but we'll start structuring the inside of the game (models, textures etc. etc.).

Umm...last news I heard (from Doomsday HQ) was DoomsDay 1.8 was postponed, and in fact skyJake was deciding whether or not it was necessary. Perhaps you should do some work on 1.7.15 instead?
