After reading the full description of the changes brought to the map on TWC, I'd like to say that I fully agree on most changes, such as splitting the uselessly large Rhovanion in 3, so to speak, might help for expansion (especially for Dorwinion, my favorite ones ^^) or adding some regions north to Arthedain as well as Hollin (to be fair, Imladris is the most inactive faction of each of my games).

However, I can't help but feel sorry about the disappearance of Caran in Mordor, as well as Gobel Orod and Lond Nirnaeth in Lindon. But it is not only because of my (wonderful) game experience with these two factions, but also a lore concern :

(part 2)

- Regarding Caran, in Mordor the vast regions of Nurn and Lithlad are supposed to provide food for the gargantuan armies of Sauron (since Gorgoroth and Udûn are layered with ashes), and I think deleting Caran not only deletes a watch on the east (from where I invaded Mordor on my game with Dorwinion), but also a valuable income and food source. So unless Thaurband and Seregost receive a major boost on commercial buildings, I fear that it might be a big loss ...
- As for Lond Nirnaeth and Gobel Orod, the latter somehow limits Lindon's early expansion (although this is compensated with the Southern Ered Luin, I suppose), and I couldn't imagine that the Falathrim wouldn't inhabit the remains of the Thargelion lands, up here; the former had potential for increasing even more the nation's naval trade (and from a lore-respecting point of view, Tol Fuin being inhabited by Teleri and Sindar is not only coherent, but fantastic ^^) - furthermore, I always wondered why stop at Tol Fuin and Himling islands, and why not also add Tol Morwen, and have a rebel settlement on it, which could provide an even greater boost on Lindon's naval trade.

I know that your decision has already been taken about all the changes you will bring in 0.5, but I still wanted to express my feelings about it, in hope that some here share my views (who knows, maybe I will be able to touch the heart of the lore-loving Hobbit that sleeps within you)

Lore loving Elf, hobbits are way overrated. ;)

I too am sad at the loss of Lond Nirnaeth because I named the town and was very pleased with that little province. However, there is a hard coded region limit I am afraid and so we cannot add any more than we currently have. Lond Nirnaeth and Gobel orod were just too far away and they virtually never saw action, they were useless villages in the corner and they would serve a much greater purpose in Northern Arthedain or Rhovanion.

Dorwinion is my third favourite faction so they receive quite a lot of love, probably too much to be honest. :P

Hollin and Upper Rhudaur are added for Misty not Imladris. Imladris is kept to the lore and will only defend their capital. Only a human player will ever do anything with them. Thsi is mostly because if they came out of that valley they would ALWAYS destroy everyone around them and it would bee really difficult to balance and anti-lore. :P

Caran went because Mordor is incredibly strong without it, they will alwyas eventually beat Gondor and often bring down Eastern Rohan too so knocking of a settlement will do them no harm. As a human player you are always expected to win and so by the time you are ready to take down Mordor as Dorwinion the game is basically over anyway. :P

Many thanks for your thoughtful reply by the way, it is refreshing to see something other than moaning and actual constructive feedback here on MOD DB. :) You have my sword...

Don't. Ever. Say. That. Hobbits. Are. Overrated. Pls. XD

True, I've heard of this region limit, and I know that it sparked heated debates here and on TWC about hard-code breaking and adding forts ... Well I see your reasons, but I can't help but still feel sad for them, I love Lindon sooo much :') (I guess I can keep the 0.4 on one safe, and get 0.5 on another TATWed Kingdoms campaign).

Since when is "a lot" synonymous with "too much" ? >:D

I understand better the purpose of these two new regions now - I thought of them from a player (better, Elven player) point of view, for it is extremely difficult to get those 35 regions with so little to begin with ... :P

Your arguments about Caran kicked off mine, so I have nothing left to say about it ^^ I was way more worried about the loss of the Lindon regions (though a commercial building boost on Thaurband would still ease things up)

Well, you're most welcome, for having the patience to write such a long answer to my post ! I figured out that with all those people not seeing or ignoring important updates and whining afterwards, a clever post (in all modesty) would be a relief ;)
You have my bow !

At least least the Dwarves weren't that effected by the change. The loss of the settlement south of the gulf is a safety blow, but it also makes them easier to defend by keeping them together. You have my axe!

RiP the Drúedain Village, a wild tribe living near the capital of the world reminds me of the Sorbs near Berlin ^^
