The hallmark of The Hell is a very serious approach to development. First and foremost, it is concentrated on getting rid of all the initial bugs of Diablo & Hellfire. It also raises challenge considerably, gives much more variety (monsters, items, spells, boss monsters, unique items, item & environment colors), improves overall difficulty balance of the game, improves monster AI, introduces new character animations, increases replay value and gives full support for Multiplayer experience. It is the HARDEST of Diablo Hellfire mods. Nowadays we have version 1.90+ and it's fully functional, has many bugs of original game fixed, is running smooth, and on average is working way better than original game. The amount of changes is tremendous (trust me), part of them are available in Changes Log file inside archive.
We have started TH2 development. First beta release expected in early 2010.

This new version will have many new features.
Feedback and suggestions are welcome. TH2 will be an improved version of TH. Yet, it will use different savegames and stashfiles.
TH development will not be stopped.
It's time to share your thoughts about how you think TH2 would look like and feel like. Don't think about engine limitations and just give us the thoughts. We're looking forward to hear some ideas.

The Hell 2 should be less difficult.TH1 is too hard.
what stage is difficult?
for what class?
The entire game is hard. You have patched The Hell 1 and is easier.
Thanks for that. :)
Like Diablo 2 would be sweet. Maybe an engine change, to the Diablo 2 engine?
I think D1 engine is better than D2
And TH-2 was decided to be brand new game - not an expansion or mod to Diablo.
Okej. The only feature I'm asking for then is runing.
I'm totally against running. It kills atmosphere.
Diablo 1 is a slow-paced game and the speed is perfect.
Nah
First of all I want to thank everyone for their hard work in getting TH where it is today, I'm having a lot of fun and I appreciate it.
As far as some suggestions for how TH2 should be, I would recommend a higher level cap, perhaps new spells/skills if possible, new areas are always cool too. Another thing that would be cool is if single player mode could have some way to reset the monsters in the dungeons so we could play through the quests. I found single player mode too hard to advance without going back to lower dungeons because for a mage for example, you can get unlucky and not find many spell books that you will need, and end up having to restart your character. I will add more once I've played TH further, so far I'm only a level 18 paladin.
