Diablo Awake - is a mod for the first Diablo, which introduces many changes into the game. Awake Mod, is also only Diablo 1 mod based on the newest official Blizzard patch v1.09. Newly set up story shows us further fate of the World of Sanctuary, after Baal has been killed and the Worldstone destroyed.
The main changes Awake makes are adding new monsters/bosses, spells, new quests, normal items and unique items. Values of prefixes and suffixes has been modified, the difficult of the game has increased and few bugs that were present in Diablo 1 were fixed, such as duplicate bug, flash bug, invisible walls in hell, etc.one of the feature of Diablo awake is shared experience, gained from monsters, over the players what makes cooperative and online game much more fun. Improved monster status bar is also an interesting extras which allows to see current HP of the monster and ever HP and Resist/Immune of Bosses. All negative shrines (shrines which takes away base mana points) has been removed completely. The look of Tristram is now different, new pallets of colours have been added, locations of NPC is different, new music, movies and graphics also have been added.
When playing Diablo Awake, there are two modes - single and multiplayer. You can play multiplayer on special private Battle.Net server or through Hamachi network (choose Local Area Network when using Hamachi).

Excuse me but does the Awakening mod have/will include unreleased quests from diablo? the makers of the hell are making unfinished quests such as the worms beneath tristram. so does/will the awakening include any quests such as that? also im glad to see that diablo 1 (my favorite game... EVER) is still being updated
I only checked out the mod for about an hour or so, so maybe I'm just not knowledgeable but the difficulty seems off the charts. I don't even mind hard games, but how the heck am I supposed to deal with skeleton archers as a starting warrior, never mind the fact that armor loses 1 durability every time you are hit.
I also know you are polish but there were obvious spelling errors ("F") instead of of that just makes the whole thing look sloppy.
I am an old Diablo 1 fan but I stopped playing multiplayer cause of two things:
The Item Dupe Bug which was too easy to exploit/cheat. I liked to be Full Legit.
Second were the shrines wich could imbue permanent character damage to all players if activated by not knowledgable player in the same game. (Like say having a 500 mana Sorcerer losing 10% of its base value for a crapy Firebolt spell level increase)
From what I've seen this mod fixes that and thus brings back the joy of playing The Game once more to me. And it has it's own server!
I'll spend a long hours playing Diablo again...
Is there a way to enable the shared experience mod for diablo 1 without all the other additions (ie with butcher rather than andariel, etc etc)?
You can't disable other changes in Diablo "Awakening" mod.
Andariel is kinda unfair...

If only you could play this old game without it looking like garbage with the pink texture glitches (play it in a window)...
Hello ApornasPlanet
I only player The Hell mode for a very short time and long time ago, so its difficult to me to state any differences. The main difference though is that The Hell is a Hellfire mode while Awakening is a mod for classic diablo 1. Also, my mod is the only mod based on the newest diablo 1 patch v1.09 therefore it has less bugs than the hell and has its own battle.net server. The best thing you can do is to read "features" on the website or play the mod to see particular differenes. All I can say that users are usually pleased about the mod and I receive positive comments and opinions.
compared to TH, D109 is a bug collection :)
