A stylish first person shooter set during the turn of the century. Elegant British gentlemen battle it out with unique, realistically portrayed period weapons, using free aim, ironsights, mixed akimbo, realistic damage, and a bleeding system. Debauchery will also feature an economy system, where points earned during play can be spent on newer and better weapons, upgrades, clothing, and various other things. Gamemodes will include the classic deathmatch, team deathmatch, and a new gamemode called Debauchery. In Debauchery, all players are 'innocent' and part of the same 'team.' A few of the players are traitors. Nobody knows who the traitors are. The goal of the traitors is to kill all of the innocents without being found out and killed themselves. Innocents must survive for a set period of time and/or complete a map-specific objective, and kill the traitors if they can figure out who they are. It's a highly psychological gamemode that plays much like poker with guns.

Do you plan on adding any unique gameplay mechanics? Because so far, it just looks like a Deathmatch mod.

Lots of unique gameplay modes are planned (which you'd know if you'd read the other bits of the moddb page :P). Dueling mode and Debauchery mode (basically like TTT in Gmod) are planned as are other gamemodes. There'll also be a gamemode in which one team attempts to defend an objective (probably money inside a safe), another team tries to steal that objective and bring it to their base, and a third smaller team tries to destroy the objective. Respawning will be in waves to promote teamplay.

Malicious Intent will be a round-based objective mode. There will be no respawns until the round is over and objectives will be map-specific. There'll also be a sort of Golden Gun-esque gamemode involving some kind of crazy fancy engraved gun. More on that later.

Sounds like fun. I apologize for not doing my research first.

What about general gameplay rather than gamemodes? Will movement speed be lowered and sprinting added? Will guns have maybe more recoil? ie will the game's general pace be made slower and more similar to semi-realistic games/mods, or will it be very fast paced and stick to the hl2:dm mechanics?

Yes, movement speed is going to be reduced and sprint is likely to be added.

I've spotted TF2-fonts on the Death-notices :o
Looks really cool for a WIP, especially the viewmodels, but, still plain, like Klammy said, no unique mechanics.

That looks sweet >:D The only thing I can criticize is that the map needs a bit more detail.

Btw, whats the song?

Great soundtrack! I rarely comment on it, but this one is worth a note!

For an early demo, this seems pretty polished. There are some loose ends in the UI, and the view model arms are way too short, but otherwise everything seems to work well.

While this does look plain, the appeal seems to be both the era represented and the odd weapons. In that respect, I'd say it works. I would like to see a unique mechanic or two, but for now it's good to see everything working.

Edit: just noticed there seems to be a film grain effect. Pretty nice. :)

The atmosphere is a litte odd, but that is because it is set in the day instead of the night and still have the lamppost on. And, i do not know how i sould write it, it seem a Little too fast paced for 20th(or 19th?) century. But one thing i did like a lot is the music. Combine it with a map set in nighttime, and the atmosphere would be perfect.

It is making progress.

I agree that that the music is great but it needs a mechanic indeed. I would say something like dueling? Doesn't that fit perfectly in the timeframe?

I do know it's very early progress, so this is just general constructive suggestions. The textures are very high quality, and the general mapping seems to be good, but those streets definitely need to be a bit more cluttered. Also, rather than a straight up wall boxing the players into the map, I would suggest having some accessible gentlemanly shops and buildings. It would make the playing world larger, and look nicer.

Also, will there be several player skins to choose from? I think that player customization is something that could make this game very very fun (I want me some super side burns!)

Also, if you need any beta testers I'm here. I have experience testing Resistance and Liberation mod and No More Room in Hell.

edit: also love the super mag pistol!

I would also suggest re-doing the revolver animation that has the bullets spring out. It would look much cooler if the guy points the gun up and shakes it to make them fall out.

Although I do understand that animations are tough to make. And if it is necessary to have the animation stay as it is, then it shall be so.

All the buildings should be fine tobacco or liquor lounges/ shops and fancy barber shops that cater specifically to gentlemanly mustaches and beards. Perhaps some nice cafes or clothing stores aimed at the more sophisticated of men as well.
