This is the 1.7.9 release of the Death Wish expansion for Blood.
Updated 1-12-21. Death Wish v1.7 adds lots of new secrets and pathways to make play more dynamic and interesting. Some levels have been heavily altered while others have received only minor upgrades. This is not the version that includes a new episode. That is still a work-in-progress and more information will be available on it next year.

10-28-20. 1.7.4 --- TNT Barrel hitscan fixes, blocking wall fix in e1m12, texture fixes, other small edits
10-31-20. 1.7.5 --- Co-op checkpoint weapons have forced permanency, Co-op trap fix in e1m9, some voxel rotation fixes, small texture fixes, key req. removed in e3m11, enemy trigger update for Blood Extra Crispy compatibility, dw.ini and walkthrough updates, other small fixes
11-10-20 1.7.6 --- Large number of small edits for both singleplayer and multiplayer, including some SFX cancellation/overlap fixes
11-10-20 1.7.7 --- Removed some floating sprites, made e2m7 elevator switch easier to see
11-24-20 1.7.8 --- Fixed some problem areas for co-op, barrel hitscan fixes, texture alignments, other small fixes, walkthrough now includes a level progression guide in the "secrets revealed" section to show the level order for people who are loading the maps one at a time for some reason (like broken segment co-op sessions)
01-12-21 1.7.9 --- Fixed the (FS exclusive) sound error in e2m3 that was cutting off SFX, e2m3 key 7 accessible before final explosion sequence (walkthrough updated), fixed sector wall overlay in e1m11, bridge explosion in e1m5 changed to chain of explode object triggers
• edits and additions to many levels across the whole campaign, including new pathways to enhance linear levels and more freedom to complete objectives out-of-sequence.
• Updated walkthrough and .ini to accommodate new changes

i gotta say. after seeing Civvie do a video on this. this does look awesome all around. i just wish it could work for like NBlood. cause Fresh Supply is kinda not nice to me at times. and BuildGDX is meh to use really
It works fine in NBlood. Just place the Death Wish folder inside the NBlood folder. You just have to rename "dw.ini" to "blood.ini" and select the Death Wish folder as the "Custom game content directory" in the NBlood launcher.

How to install soundtrack for death wish? Are there any? I am sure I heard it on some gameplay?
By the way, Civvie anticipated this Halloween update.
Copy everything inside the "nBlood and FS" folder and paste it directly into the Death Wish folder. The file "dw.ini" will be overwritten, which controls the music among other things. You can save a duplicate of dw.ini somewhere if you want to switch back the original music later.
When you start FS, load up Death Wish like you usually do, then go into the Audio settings and change it from MIDI to CD Music (if necessary, depending on your previous settings).
So on E3M3 Shadehaven, the eye key does not seem to appear. I'm playing Fresh Supply so I don't know if that's a problem or not.
Not sure to which key you are referring. The placement in v1.7 is different than v1.6. There's a walkthrough included in the DW download folder.
Good job Bloat. Keep it coming. I got more and more people asking me if this works with my Blood Extra Crispy mod almost daily.
Amazing mod and update. Just find a strange thing in E3M1: the lights of the first car are floating above it.
Also the fog seems to not work well in NBlood, although I suppose it´s due to limitations of the source port.

Hey guys! I play FRESH SUPPLY and E1M3 D.W it does not work, I came out of the basement and nothing change I got the 1.7.7 version
You need to update your version of Fresh Supply on Steam. This was a bug they fixed after the initial release.
I have trouble with this mod. My colors are all dark and lifeless. Please help or are there proper colors? I'm using BLOOD: Flesh Supply.

You might have to play around in the Blood video settings (Death Wish doesn't add anything other than the levels, so it doesn't change your color settings at all). I had the same problem in GDX before the palette emulation features were added.
Does the music addon work for Dosbox? I have downloaded it and moved all the files that were inside the MIDI folder into my blood folder, and tried to use the provided ini file. However I got no music when I load any of the episodes.
No, it only works with the ports. If there's a way to get it to work in DOS, Speedy might know how.
These cutscenes are so good! You should do a mod with your type of cutscenes over the cutscenes for the main game.
I want report some strange thing, used NBlood latest build and Death Wish 1.7.8, i have clip from twitch, but site does not allow links, E2M9 level is just start ending in beginning of level and it happen after each restart, Cerberus start dying or i dont know (sorry i am stupid and overwritten savefile, it could help a lot for undestand), start New Game and warp to level with mario cheat fixed it. And thank you for this best addon and for very great ballance for Extra Crispy and pitchfork start all levels. (sorry for bad eng)

I don't know if this is an issue with Blood, or Fresh Supply or this mod, but I'm on the map Legion (E2-M9) and it spawns 2 Cerberus.
Well I'm running around throwing dynamite to kill the mobs and collecting hearts and ignoring the cerberus's, and I just noticed that I've killed everything and they are just....gone? I'm stuck in this room that's locked.
I picked up both secrets, and now what?

I started over was doing really well.
But all of a sudden there's just 1 Cerberus so I kill him and now there's nobody left???
And I can't end the fight.
I think maybe he's falling off the ledge into the lava where they spawn?

Had to keep them in my sights the whole time.
This encounter has a several changes in the update I'm developing, and this will no longer be an issue.
I've never encountered it myself so I'm not sure what's causing the problem since it's inconsistent (reloading a saved game from that mission may just be reloading the same error conditions).
Just wanna say though, fantastic work! 10/10 bugs and all (though might be engine related)
I hope one day someone makes custom enemies for Death Wish, it deserves it
I seem to have encountered an issue where the boss auto dies when entering E2M9/Legion, then just goes to credits. Any way to fix this or do I need to wait for a patch?
This is a port error, so you can report to the creator of whichever port it is. The next release has a lot of changes in this map so this won't be an issue.

Yes. Anything that can run the original game can run DW.
Can't believe I never heard of this and it took me this long to find it, but better late than never. Like a few others I discovered it from Civvie's Video and I'm glad I did. I don't know what to say, I'm simply blown away.
This is one of the best custom map sets of any game I've ever played. It wipes the floor with any modern day AAA title in my book. That it's on Blood (my fav Build Engine game, and among my fav FPS games of all time) makes it all the better.
These levels are so atmospheric I felt like I was there, in a haunted house, in a tomb, underground in a creepy cultist lair, even the monster placements just felt right. As an example whenever I thought to myself this atmosphere feels like there would be a spider over there in the corner... sure enough there was a spider in the corner, every level simply oozes that attention to detail.
The level design is outstanding and far exceeds even the original professional levels. I love these old school level designs with key hunts and where each level is it's own thing. I miss this simplistic yet ultra fun FPS play. No level was too easy or too hard. You had to think and run around a bit to find the next door or key but never frustrated or lost, they were basically all perfectly balanced.
As Civvie says, this is what Blood 2 should have been.
A well earned 10/10 for me.
Any pointers on getting Death Wish 1.7.9 to work in pure DOS?
I keep getting an error about SRC\LEVELS.CPP not being found and I need to reinstall.
Tested with Blood 1.0 + Plasma Pack early 1.11 + final 1.11 update and also One Unit Whole Blood 1.21.
EDIT: FIXED. There was an extra character in the dw.bat file which was breaking the loading of the mod, only visible in DOS/Win98. It might have been a line-break but it was displaying as a solid square.
A problem is found. BloodGDX, E1M4 The Abyss. The ritual is not visible through the window.
That entire section has been replaced in the upcoming v2.0. Thanks for the notice, though!
