A deserted island... a lost man... memories of a fatal crash... a book written by a dying explorer. Dear Esther is a ghost story told using first-person gaming technologies. Rather than traditional gameplay, the focus here is on exploration, uncovering the mystery of the island, of who you are and why you are here. Fragments of story are randomly triggered by moving around the environments, making every telling unique. Features a stunning, specially commissioned soundtrack. Forget the normal rules of play; if nothing seems real here, it's because it may just be all a delusion. What is the significance of the aerial - What happened on the motorway - is the island real or imagined - who is Esther and why has she chosen to summon you here? The answers are out there, on the lost beach and the tunnels under the island. Or then again, they may just not be, after all...

I hope so - there's some snagging to do... just not a lot of time to do it in...
Wow. This was great visually, and in terms of audio.
The map work is great, and the sound track is even more great!
Good work on this.
But, I don't know if it's just me, but it seemed kind of short.
If it was a lot longer, it would be just that much better.
Still an awesome mod, none the less.

I'm not entirely sure what this was, but I loved it. Very atmospheric, excellent design, a brilliant soundtrack and some unusual and alluring visuals.
Would love to see more like this in the future!

The end just stays black for me...is that supposed to happen? Other than that it is a great work of literature and art, great voice acting, and is incredibly atmospheric. A tad short, but I think it suits it, and I hope you guys make more mods like this. Thanks for making something different!

I'm looking forward to playing this mod. I hope I like it. With all the buzz around E3 and Hl2 Ep3 I wanted to play something on source, but I wanted something new. Why not this mod? I hope i'll like it :)
