MY cleaner file isn't doing anything. At least it doesn't remove any files and so when I go to launch I just get Med 2 vanilla. Anyone have this problem?

Rename your configuration.cfg to TATW.cfg. Open dcicleaner.bat with notepad++ and see what files should be deleted.

Is there a way to install this mod without overriding my original Medieval 2 Total War?

I don't want the mod to permanently override my vanilla version.

Will the mod permanently change my Medieval 2, or will the installer not override anything?

Or is there a way to not put the uninstaller and the extra files (examples: "saves, preferences...") in the Medieval 2 folder?

It doesn't override any Medieval 2 files. You can still play medieval 2 by launching the game normally. All medieval 2 mods are located in the existing 'medieval II total war/mods' folder, they work just like any of the kingdoms campaigns.

Okay thank you.

I have a new problem though, now the installer will not allow me to install to my "Medieval II" folder, it automatically installs to my "mods" folder within my "Medieval II" folder.

Now I cannot create a desktop icon to launch either.

Does this change anything that cannot be solved in a simple manner?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Okay never mind, I just launched it from the DCI Batch File and everything works great!

Thank you again for responding in a timely manner, let all evil now beware the coming power that is the Last Alliance!

After install, the DCA icon and the bat file launch vanilla MTW. Any thoughts?

Rename your configuration.cfg file to TATW.cfg. The file is located inside your "Medieval II Total War\mods\third_age_3" folder

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I do not have a .cfg file in my mod folder. It unpacked and installed just fine without errors but the file is not there. I have TATW.cfg for my Third Age DAC but not this one. Download the files again?

My game crashed mid battle. Playing as Mordor and fighting in Minas Arnor. Is there any fix?

Sorry, no easy fix. Restarting your computer and lowering your graphics setting seems to help.

Try to run the installer as administrator. If you're still getting an error try a manual installation with the 7zip file.

What do you do if there is no .cfg file in the folder after unzipping it?

You need to install Third Age total war 3.2 first. It has the .cfg file.
Running the dcilacleaner.bat will rename the configuration.cfg file to tatw.cfg. If it doesn't work you can change the name of the file manually.

Will this mess with my other Third Age mods such as Dac ect? As in will the overwrite of files change things in my other mods? Thanks.

Hey, so I've been having some sort of problem playing with Mountain Men, I tried to switch my culture to Host of the West but then, as I continue down the path, I'm suddenly unable to recruit anybody, I guess the same happens if I go the Men of Darkness route.

This happens because if I get under 25% Middle Men culture, I can't recruit anything.

I'll look into it. For now try to build culture buildings to convert faster.
