DAWN OF THE DEAD - Firing Range Demo
Jun 22, 2009 Movies 1 commentAn in game Video showing a demonstration of an Animated Firing Range that I made for this Total Conversion Mod.
This is a Total Conversion mod that i'm working on using the MAX PAYNE 1 Gaming engine (MaxED). The mods based on the 1978 Cult Classic Zombie Horror movie DAWN OF THE DEAD, & i'm trying to stick as closely as can to the movie, & as closely as the MaxED will allow me. I'm also using the DIRECTORS CUT version of the movie as refferance. This mod will have the same story, weapons, characters, music, & green skinned Zombies as the original movie, & just like that movie you will have to shoot the Zombies in the head to kill them.

This video is the first main/long video that I've made for my DAWN OF THE DEAD. The video contains footage of just some of the work that i've achieved...
This is the second teaser video that I've just recently made for my DAWN OF THE DEAD mod, but unlike the first video this one does contain some in game...
This video's been on the web for some time now, but I've decided to post it up on ModDB also, just to have all my video's in one place. This teaser video...
This is a video of the rolling script that I wrote for my mod, it appears just before you start the first level & it gives you a bit of background...
Please Will people stop leaving messages saying, I quote ' IS THIS MOD DEAD ', or words to that affect.
NO this mod isn't dead. i've just had more important things on my mind just lately. (see previous post below for more info on this).
Please be assured that if this mod was dead I would remove the mod's profile pages from this site as what would be the point in dispalying them anymore if the mod was never going to be released.
So with the above having been said any future comments that are in the same vain as the above will simply be unanswered and removed by myself, Sorry.
I hope that this finaly clears things up for everybody. ;-)
Oh, that's sad to hear, I wish you luck my friend, don't worry, the right thing will happen, and soon (I hope) we will be playing your mod =)
Any news? How's the kid?
Yes I have been working on the mod a bit, but mostly testing some new programming out. You know, to try and see if I can make the MaxEd engine do things that many have said can't be done, and with some success I might add.
I have 2 children by the way, who i'm having to fight for through the courts at the moment as their mother has been abusing them, so that's why i haven't had much time to work on this mod just laterly, but wish me luck, and thankyou for your continued interest in my work mate.
Keep up the amazing work friend. =D
Already finished Max Payne 3 and is not as good as the 2 first, just waiting for your mod
I'm really suprised to here that mate as i've heard nothing but possitive reviews about it thus far, it's even been given at 9.3/10 rating on IMDB: Imdb.com which is near as dam a 10.
u kidding me? max payne 3 sucks!! that garbage doesn't deserve to be called a max payne game
Yes, everybody loved it, but it have that Call of Duty feeling that most of the max payne's fans don't like, also the game is ruined by the cutscenes, for every 3 minutes of gun battle there is a 4 min cutscene, most of them cannot be skiped.
That does sound like a right PAYNE.
See what I did there lol.
I myself liked the DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, but I judge it on it's own merrits & not as a DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, because when judged like this it's still a pretty classy zombie movie compared to a lot of the Zombie movies that have come out in recent years as it contains some pretty scary moments, especially the bathroom scene at the begining.
However, I think that perhaps they should have called it something else & not a DAWN OF THE DEAD remake as it bore little ressemblance to the original movie apart from being set in a mall, & feel that if they have done this it would have been recieved a lot better by the public.
I also liked the fast paced Zombies in the remake as I think it made the zombies more frightening so I have included both slow & fast zombies in my mod.
As for the diolog you mentioned, well i'm trying to make my mod look & sound as close to the original movie as possibe & this includes lifting music & diolog from the original movie, so the diolog you have mentioned might well end up being in my mod.
As for the helicopter refuelling scene that you mentioned, that was part of the original movie. Well that scene will also be included in my mod but because i'm not a character modeler & only do re-skinning the children from this scene will now be replace with adult zombies as the original Max Payne game does not include character models of children sadly.
By the way you might also be pleased to hear that I have just recently returned to working on this mod again after a very, very long period of non production, this is because I have in the last couple of years become a father to both a baby girl & boy, so haven't had a lot of time on my hands to work on this mod, but i'm up & running again now & I hope to post some progress reports very shortly, so stay tuned.
All the best: Halloween4
