Description

Irish light infantry. The core of early Irish armies. The kerns here are wearing traditional Gaelic "Leine" costume. Other kerns wore brigandines though. While sources say kerns favoured missile weapons like darts (something not possible at present in ETW engine), Elizabethan engravings of Kern raids on English settlements in Ireland show them using axes. Some kerns also served as Elizabethan mercenaries (commanded by Colonel Thomas Lee, who was later executed for involvement in the Essex Rebellion).
