Colonialism 1600AD is a 17th century mod for Empire Total War. The mod will also reflect the changes from diverse to more uniform military dress, the decline of armour, the transition from arquebus-to-matchlock-to-flintlock muskets and from pike to bayonet.

To install. Download from here and follow installation instructions: 1.Place user.empire_script in C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts. Delete the previous scripts already located there first. 2. Place Col_loc_en, Col_models, Col_ui, colmod, Colo_events, Pikeman_animation_MOD, and patch_general_andy's_musket_sounds in the Data folder. The Data folder can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Empire Total War\data. 3. If "new.pack" is in your Data folder, delete it. 4. Next place startpos.esf in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Empire Total War\data\campaigns\main. Now start Empire Total War as normal through Steam. Do not use Modmanager as this may prevent the faction specific generals from working. It is very important that you only install the patch after you install the core mod files. If you have new.pack from the previous installation then make sure to delete it so as to avoid crashes.

This is a work in progress of the forthcoming mod "Colonialism1600 AD" ,that aims to recreate the atmosphere of 17th century colonialism by the European Empires. It will refresh the the game of ETW by presenting some new ideas. The first difference of...

I am currently having an issue where recruiting new units is changing existing unit types that I have already made. Is there a fix for this? Also will the New Holland and New Sweden be given to their respective owners? In addition to those two questions will Portugal be made playable in a future version since they were a major player in this time period (although a junior [partner in a crown union with Spain)? Thank you for the time taken to read this. Keep up the good work the mod is very enjoyable.

I keep hearing of the unit-change even though it never happens to me. The current plan is the next release will have Portugal as a Protectorate of Spain. I don't rule out releasing a submod for those who want to play as Portugal though. New Holland didn't exist on the ETW map historically until 1614. Again I may make a submod for those who want the game to start later to take this into account. As for New Sweden that didn't exist until the 1650s.

The unit thing I noticed disappears if you save and reload so it might be some kind of corruption with the base startpos data. Also I was aware that those came later I didn't know if you were going to fudge it a little like the base game did (such as the United Kingdom not existing until 1707 but is there when the game starts in 1700). As a suggestion perhaps for the European America settlements you could use the tutorial Jamestown model for the towns (although I don't know how problematic that would be). Thank you for the reply keep up the good work.

I also forgot to mention there is unique 1600 models for plantations, farms and ports as well in the Jamestown tutorial.

Im really in love with this great mod!!!, the only thing i saw it heavily lacks its the musket infantry combat, bacause they used to have swords, and russians, fought with their bardiches, and also i think pikeman should fight with sword against infantry
