The smaller areas have no ambient sound, I totally forgot, thanks. Though the main Garage has a ton of sounds, maybe too much actually, but it blends in with the combat.

Same with what I said in the gascans video, didn't have time to redo those, and they are a little old :(. Will redo them and take another image/video of them later on. They are pretty fugly right now. I think we made them back in 2008, and haven't touched them since.

The fight itself looks great, but the emergence of the antlion guard is pretty sudden and uneventful. I think you could do a bit more to play it up by building suspense before, just a couple ideas:

-have a dead antlion near the entrance to the arena
-have the ground rumble a bit as the player walks across the garage in addition to the falling debris sounds you already have
-have the player's following rebel acknowledge the dead antlion, the antlion hole, or the rumbling with a quick line
-have the rebels react to the antlions when they do emerge with shouts/gestures in addition to the music cues you already have

Also, the player has no reason to not walk straight through the garage to the gate, and doing so would leave them unfamiliar with the arena when the fight begins. Giving the player something to do before the fight (open some crates in far corners, a quick puzzle) gets them familiar with the arena and feeling safe, hopefully making the fight surprising but not overwhelming.

I haven't said it anywhere else yet so I'll go ahead and say it here: Amazing work, I don't know whether to be more excited for the game itself or the improvements you're making to the development kit. I wish I could be a part of this project.

The gun texture and the lighting is perfect.
because you guys are just ironing it out, Ill only comment on the graphical aspects

Every thing here is awesome, as I stated before, however I do think its time for a change for the antlion (and also on the same topic, head crab) green blood effects. From what you've shown us, making the green blood splatter look better shouldn't be a problem.

Also, while were on the topic of antlions, is it possible to have some more effects whent he antlions come out of the ground, right now it looks just like they are nocliping out of nothing, but I think it would look a lot cooller if you could have some sort of concrete breaking up (it sort of looks like concrete) effect as they crawl out.

1 antlion is about to crawl out, top of the texture starts to look like it's cracking,
2crack spreads apart, making it look like a few chunks are being spread out, same texture on top, but on the side make it look broken, underneath it may not even be necessary to put a texture there.
3 then antlion emerges jumping out of the crack, it may be possible to do this with out actually having to go in and change the animation for the antlion
4after the antlion is out of the hole, have it just cave back in on itself, all the chunks of concrete going back to where they were originoaly, but leaving a crack decal where the opening was, after a while fading away or simply popping away when the decal limit is hit.

I would also like to suggest a separate but similar animation for ant-lions coming out of the dirt, or sand, (if you have any sand in the game, though it would be great for modders if you put it in there anyway)
1 you see the surface bulge,
2, antlion starts to come out, this should probably all be the normal animation for an antlion emerging
3 antlion comes out of the hole
4 sand collapses back in on itself, decals may not be necessary in order to make it look good.

That's actually quite a good list of ideas.

I personally hadn't thought more aobut the intro itself, though I think it's a good idea to have something more unique and daunting for him, such as what you mentioned with the ground rising up, then crumbling away.
