So far I like what I see. Mostly because each sub-faction will have it's own unique units and structures. Now I'm not sure what's your plan. But I think it would be better if e.g. Zone command would have Sonic Tower instead of RPG tower, or Nod one sub-faction has stealth tanks while other doesn't have it and has something else instead, or one has tick-tank while other has scorpion tank instead. Something like that. Instead of having more and more of same type units to build in one game (which basically only looks different). You could and should divide you new units per sub-faction, so that every sub-faction looks different and unique. At least from Tier 2 and up.
Since CD starts after firestorm and mixes the ideas of TW, KW and the original idea of Westwoods Tiberian Twilight from 2003 (the one scrapped before TW was made) - that with a mix of our own ideas is basing the lore of the mod.

Well so far thats indeed our plan. GDI picks its Subfaction - each one has a different focus and exclusive or replacement stuff.
Nod picks 2 out of 3 ideologies. Each one grants spexial upgrates, tech and more.
Cabal uses reserchable tech, while each level you have to choose between two.
Forgotten has a highly customizeable army. Instead of faction or tech, you choose what units/structures you want to be able to produce.
What is the long barreled weapon of the RPG variant? Another machinegun like the default Vulcan tower?
