DemoCat's Paw mod translation to English! It adds 2 new characters, Saki and Rika, to act 1 of Katawa Shoujo.
Cat's Paw mod translation to English!
It adds 2 new characters, Saki and Rika, to act 1 of Katawa Shoujo. The new story intertwines with the original game, new choices are added, but you can still play it as the original game. Although loading saved games from the original game in the mod, which has its own separate .exe file, is not recommended as it may cause a crash.
Keep in mind that this is a WIP and more story will be added with these characters. So, the text of this mod and the events are subject to change. Right now it may feel rushed, but it was done this way because of doubts that this project will continue after the release of act 1, but it will! So stay tuned.
Your choices in act 1 with other girls don't matter as long as you pick the 'right' choices for the new characters. The mod text is added from day 2 in Yamaku and on.

Now that the restrictions for Katawa Shoujo mods have been dropped, I hope this project continues. I really liked how the content regarding these two girls were fleshed out and managed to weave naturally into the existing act 1. Interesting new settings and characters.
I just wanted to say Act 1 was amazing. Your work is great. If you feel burnt out
take a break, all we want is a full game which hopefully will be as good as Act 1, but we also want your mental health to be alright. I love your work and we really dont want you to hurry it. Take care and get your streght back :).
I'm sad to know that this mod was taken under hot water by the KS community, even though this has the potential to be one of those mods that can be as interesting as the other KS fanfics out there.
Though it was ballsy to outright continue with original KS; sprites and all, but not to undermine your mod, it feels right to begin with Act 1 as is. I love the little tweaks you made to fit everything together.
It must be hell on earth to be dealing with the uncertainty of the current state of your project.
I remain patient to see how this story fleshes out between Rika's and Saki's routes.
Hoping that you continue your story that is... I hope you get your strength back.
Is the mod working well? Like do we have full story with these new love interests or should I wait to download it?
Hello, the mod is working well technically, it only has the story for the new girls for as far as Act 1 goes though, so if you play their "routes" they end with Act 1 and you get straight to the title screen and main menu. I don't know when I will continue writing acts 2+ with all the bs that is going on right now, not really in the right mood to continue the story, sorry.
You have made a really great mod. I think its worthy successor of the original. I wrote about your work on Reddits KS-forum. Im sorry to hear how this war has messed up even this project, amongst other things. If you need help with the writing, I would gladly assist you. None the less, peace and power to you.:)
Yeah I agree. The restrictions on mods were dropped in November 2022 so hopefully that gives this project a new lease on life.

So is this a seperate game all together or does it modify the existing Katawa Shoujo application?

Does it have to be an .exe, is it Ren'Py or not?
