with many PWADS.

Love the idea of this MOD and hope to see it continually updated! Did you use the latest version of DHTP for this? Based on the size of the file it can't possibly be using all the DHTP textures...if this is true please update to the full set :)
i dont use all the textures of the DHTP,i just take the most important(switches,some rocks textures,blood falls,doors,etc) and in that way its better for old pcs!
But i will improve it soon with a little Update!
You should check out the psychophobia HD textures for some extra texture add ideas. They also aren't super heavy HD ones and have some textures some others don't. Like the corpse wall textures for example.
The DHTP textures imo are really buggy and mess up alot of textures like acid and waterfalls imo.

Thanks man the mod looks great. There's even way less buggy textures than the original dhtp. I did notice one so far though, the outer wall of the 'well' at the beginning of 'well of souls' (map 02 of plutonia) still has the same issue from dhtp, but the waterfalls in the same spot that used to also have the same bug look fine now oddly enough.
i just try this and i must say THIS IS SPAR... Errr i mean AWESOME really nice job man i love how everything looks, runs perfectly and now i don't think i can play without this anymore, just some minor bug i found in TNT map 02 where you get the blue keycard there is a secret room that is an elevator which will take you to a teleporter that leads to a soulsphere and the ssg the thing is near teleporter is suppose to be a swicth for elevator but is not there it works anyway but is not show, other same type switches appear normally in rest of the map but not that one, could you check it out?
hi i found some more bugs with this but in order to make sure is this and not something else conflicting with it i must say i'm using PB october 5th with some other addons but none of them that affect visuals at all anyway if you need to know which one they are let me know and i'll make a screen capture so you see everything i'm using, now this time i found walls and other surfaces that changes what's on them in short time periods like one or two seconds, also some switches do the same thing, all this im map 8 TNT water and other liquids appear to behave normally for i havent seen anything weird with those, i'll keep testing TNT maps and inform you if this occurs in plutonia and doom/doom2
i need to test the textures with tnt and plutonia, i just added those textures as a plus, i just fucus on normañ doom, i will try to make them work!
good to know, i tried some more maps and found only the previous mentioned problems, but still is a really great work man, everything looks 12/10, a very must have addon, keep up the good work

Yeah I posted above about the same issue in plutonia map 02. It also happens with the dhtp mod that this is based on so it seems to be an issue between it and the doom 2 engine, or just a problem id left in only visible with the high def textures.

Really like the new changes you put in. Was wondering though in the future is there any chance of adding some night themed skyboxes? Would add for a slightly more creepy feel.
Although I notice if I try to use a different skybox myself it reverts some of the textures to the default ones. This is the same for all texture mods however.
Shouldn't this be under Doom/Doom 2 since it's not a Brutal Doom enhancement addon?

Thanks that's great to hear, your last update really added to the immersion of the games. The skyboxes in particular were a nice touch, especially the ep2 and ep3 hellish skyboxes, and the doom 2 industrial city skyboxes. In particular this mod goes great with PB and the jet black angst music mod to create a great atmosphere that really feels true to what id was doing with the game but with modern resources.
i dont put the skyboxes to no overwrite the originals of the pwads
at least make it a seperate mutator so people who only play original maps may enjoy them :)
jajaja,man,i dont know how to do it,i would like to do one with all the swetches and some cool skyboxes,but i dont know,and im very short of time,i well see what i can do,i just was testing slade for first time and this comes out,im an amateur.
Ok, they looked better than I remembered so even though I knew they were the style of the original pwads I thought they had been improved to a higher definition in some way. I was just applauding the decision to go with those skyboxes over the ones the mod had when I played the first version, which looked ok too, but lacked details like mountains and different shades of clouds and were mostly just a solid colour.
The texture of the Eye-button in the beginning of E3M1 could use some fixing don't you think.

Some textures are still missing, especially for the switches. Some of the switches seem to be from Fearrific, but then when you press it, it turns into an HD one. What I mean is, some of the switches, when not activated, has a Fearrific texture, but when activated, it has an HD one instead. It's a weird and annoying effect. Otherwise, it's top notch. Small in package, big ******* firepower. I really like both textures and I'm happy someone made a combination of both of them. Keep it up!
dont worry,im working in a new one,with more textures adedd and some fixes and i have added some from cacodemon textures :D
what along with @gabrieloup said, there should also be a seperate mutator to where skyboxes are added back in! the original doom games would look so good with those added back please!! :D

cacos textures?! oh man this will be great!! just make sure some dont overlap like the switches :)
Caco textuers are probably the heaviest HD ones. When you use those ones you can always tell a difference in your performance no matter what rig you have. May not be a good idea to include those, not to mention all the spray images he uses for emblems kinda seems really dumb imo.
Not sure what you could do about skyboxes though, everytime I tried to use a different skybox with textures it always conflicts and the skybox changes some wall textures back to their former ones.
Hmm, yes, theres a low end version of the textures, i just take some textures of lights, floor and like 2 doors, looks nice, i also have fixed some problems with textures and Switches, looks very nice now, i also have made a custom texture for fireblu1 and 2,i think that i will made a standard edition and a conplete one for the official doom wads..
A replacement for FireBlue? That kicks ***. I notice whenever people do live streams of doom and look at fireblue textures they're vids turn into a pixelated mess. Video streams can't render those colors well at all.

It's very good work. Nice. But I think original ZDoom HD Texture Pack is much better. They totally improve quality, but all textures remain in same style. Doom style and atmosphere. But with your textures I play in Doom 1 Episode 3 and I don't feel Doom. Might be too much black and stone. It's only my opinion. Anyway, it's very good work).
thanks man, but thats why i call the texture pack "alternative" something a little different from the vanilla textures,who wants the vanilla style just use the Normal HD ones,This its more about taste.
These textures were made to make the atmosphere more dark and gloomy/creepy, and in that regard it gets the job done. Plus the current HD textures out right now can hit your performance hard if you don't have something close to a GTX nvidia 980. These textures were made for most people to be able to use with ease.
well i mean...my 970 sli can handle it and my diamond 7.1 sound card had my hd sounds all in shape ;3
well,ihave a intel celeron dual core with intel hd graphics,imagine, i play very good with my pack haha
hey my pc handles these with a breeze of fresh air, i think the i7 helps with my sli ;P keep up the good work if you find any new doom textures!!
also ZDoom HDTP has some glitchy textures with water falls! if you want better original textures try psychophobia! :) if you need a link then here it is! Moddb.com these also run much smoother!
for some reason i cant open it with slade, i tried haha, in the next Update i will update thr mod with thode textures if i can open it xD thats why i dont include them yet
