BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.
Over the past day or two I've developped a mod that generates UEF civilian cities in unused player start positions on maps that support civilians.
There's no good indication if a map supports civilians or not until you get in game. Wrecks or pre-existing civilian structures will mean they of course do, but absence of those doesn't mean they don't. The alt-f2 cheat-spawn menu will give options for spawning units for civilian players if the map supports it.
The cities can be quite large depending on the map: Cdn.discordapp.com
Oh wow. That looks awesome!
very cool
Holy- that's awesome
Now maps will feel a bit more alive. Any plans on making other faction city generators too?
Yes, although they have less complete item sets compared to UEF, so they will require more custom assets. Especially Seraphim.
I'm also undecided if I want the faction to be random per city, per map, or give some form of options toggle.
Kinda curious but is there a way to build the civilian buildings? Or is this just a upcoming version for the mod
