BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.

While I think these look great and its an awesome concept, practically speaking I doubt I'm going to notice this in an actual game.

Its a good idea, as it gives you more of a visual that your walls are damaged, as opposed to the health bar. The reality is that different players focus on different things. Some focus on defense or attack, others concentrate on pumping units out, and others focus on base building, etc. Some notice things more than others and the aesthetics are more appreciated. Other times, you're focused on repairs, etc; and you can miss repairing the walls. So go for it man if you can.

Description

Sparky has calmed down and grown up a bit now. (WE HID THE KNIVES. HE TOTALLY WASN'T THE ONE THAT SMASHED THE WALLS.)

As part of my now-underway aesthetic overhaul of the walls I have created a new texture for the UEF T2 walls. I have also created a currently-unimplemented damaged model as a proof-of-concept thing. I want to get a feel for peoples opinions on such a thing before I spend the time creating several damage levels for all my walls. It would also be a chunk of extra computation on what is already a computation heavy do-nothing chuck of pretty concrete thanks to the adjacency and elevation scripts. Your opinions on that are welcomed.

For those still considering supporting me on Patreon I have a new video time-lapse up of a new UEF T2 reconnaissance aircraft, based off the Lockheed U-2. You can find that here: Patreon.com
