Is there a beginner friendly installation tutorial? More beginner friendly than the one in Github.
I´m not sure, but take a look on cod4x.me for a tutorial and use the search on this site!
I can say, the Bots are easy to install, copy the main_shared folder to the root on your server, make a new folder named mods, open this folder, create a new folder named bots, open this and copy the bots.cfg and server.cfg in this folder.
Now you must open your server.cfg with a editor, write on the end of this file exec bots.cfg and save the file.
In your start.sh you must add
+set fs_game mods/bots
save and restart the server. All other you will found on github
I don't have a "bots.cfg" file. Did you create this yourself?
Will there be a version for a private match?
Every version of Bot Warfare installs and works just fine. Except for CoD4, of course, which is a shitshow.
You download both CoD4x client & server, follow all the instructions, and nothing happens. At all. It would be so much easier if it was like literally every single other instance of Bot Warfare-- download, extract to "Mods" folder, launch in-game, done.
EDIT: I messed around for a bit and was able to solve the issues i had. Turns out instructions were lacking a pretty important detail. If you are having issues of being unable to spawn the bots or connect to your own server, do the following:
1) Install CoD4x client & server following the official instructions on the CoD4x website;
2) Download Bot Warfare for CoD4x & extract all the files to the root of your CoD4x Dedicated Server, EXCEPT for "z_playserver.bat";
3) Extract the "z_playserver" bat to the root of your CoD4 folder (Steam\SteamApps\Common\Call of Duty 4);
4) Open your CoD4x Dedicated Server folder and run "z_localserver.bat";
5) After the server has started running, go to your root CoD4 folder and run "z_playserver.bat".
The game should launch and you should automatically connect to the server. Then, open the bots menu by pressing your primary grenade + secondary grenade keys at the same time.

Is there any solution for bots only using pistols in WWII mod?
how can I change the botton that activates the bot menu? it always makes me throw grenades when opening the menu......
