There's a whole slew of interesting weapon options for this time period. When exactly is the cutoff date, in terms of "when these weapons were first produced?" What is allowable? If gameplay begins in 1870, does that mean we can have weapons from the 1850's or so to 1900 or so? The cutoff date is kind of an important detail for me! I like to collect images of antique firearms from the late 1800's to early 1900's and there's quite a lot to choose from!

Aside from guns, a healthy variety of sabers would be appreciated! Broad cutters, slim thrusters, gently curved cut-and-thrust blades; not to mention the different styles of handguards - the works! :D

Cut off date I would say is 1870-80 our real world time.

I'd say we don't have much of a cut off date, provided the weapons fit in with the theme I'll give 'em a shot. We're not after automatic rifles, SMGs, or bolt actions, or really anything after 1920, unless it looks like it belongs in a fictional western-type world.

I would definitely like to see a Henry Rifle in the Usonian Arsenal as well as long barreled revovlers like the 1858 Remington New Model Army.

Though a stretch perhaps the Swadians should a have the Mauser C96 or perhaps its predecessor the Borchardt C-93.

A Volcanic Pistol would also be nice as would a Remington Rolling Block rifle or the Sharps Model 1874 due to their wide use.

A LeMat Revolver would be very fun as it is a shotgun revolver. A Evans Repeater with all of its 34 round capacity would be lovely.

I totally didn't realize that it had already been a month since I left that comment. Holy crap. Anyway, back to the topic.

So, weapons should fit the time period and general aesthetic of a pre-1900-ish world, preferably with a touch of western flair. Got it.

How about a Bergmann-Schmeisser model 1893 semi-automatic pistol? While not exactly hugely successful IRL, it was built in the standard Swiss military revolver cartridge and participated in military trials. (source: Forgottenweapons.com)

That, and a few later Bergman types (at least three more came out before 1900, one in 1894 and two in 1896) might be good end-game handguns. Also, the first of the famous Mauser bolt-action repeating rifles was adopted by the German Empire in 1871, I know you said you're not particularly looking for bolt-action guns, but I figured that bit of info might be useful. I'm going to do some digging to compile a good list of guns for the time period now that I've got some criteria to work with, so I'll be back!

(Also, that link I posted goes to a website with a delightful amount of information on old guns of various kinds, and even has a corresponding YouTube channel with the same name with even more information, so it might be a useful source for your own research!)
