Back in 2004 it was quite a shock and refresher to have the vortigaunts as allies, even if they never really showed up in combat until Ep2.
It'll be refreshing to have them as enemies again when BM:S is released.

Remembers first time I saw one on the tracks in HL2 "Hello you must be the Freeeema..." *bang* whistles and walks away. How was I supposed to know they were friendly? XD
