Another day, another change of plans.
Earlier we announced our recent change of direction. We're here to announce that we will not actually be making a Five Nights at Freddy's themed Hazard Course. Despite the resounding, near deafening approval from the community at large, our lawyers have informed us that this isn't a legally viable direction, and some of our investors have withdrawn. As such, we will be sticking with classic Half-Life style!
We are, however, still looking for a Choreographer to breathe life into our NPCs - and we need that secured before we can finalize the Beta version! As we've said before, with a choreographer on our team, we should be able to release before the end of the year no problem.
And lastly, for those who are curious, that FNAHC video was actually a totally functional "prototype," made by project leader/level designer "dky.tehkingd.u," entirely within the Hammer editor over about a week and a half, with additional assets and VO by level designer JeffMOD. If you're interested, you can check it out, and play it for yourself right here.
We hope it put a smile on you guys' faces. And if not, well... we'll just send Purple Man and give you a reason to keep it that way.
Until next update, good days, guys!
This is really cool. Thanks for the gift, guys.
Best of luck :)
Why wasn't this announced 2 days earlier? The world will never know.
Because the version in the video was unwinnable. I spent the next couple of days making it actually winnable and tweaking the balance and timing to be more fair.
Should have left it seemingly, but not quite winnable >:)
Well, I mean... I myself have not been able to (legitimately) beat it yet, and I know all the internal mechanisms of how it works...
You're welcome to try it though. Good luck! :P
No,the fact that this was an April Fools joke.
We figured that since the original article went up on April first and that it was such a ludicrous announcement, that everyone would be able to figure it out.
But I guess yet again we're proved wrong?
You guess right.
Seems fun :)
I was thinking, "There's no way this is actually something that's functional. They wouldn't put in THAT much work for a joke." Well, ya proved me wrong. A joke only had to be so much, and here we have so much more. I applaud you.
