As far as I can see, it is really awesome, but still there is only one thing that bothers me: it is still possible to do some damage with missiles? For what I saw, only KEWs are doing some serious damage.

Anyway, I truly like the effort you're putting into it! Keep going!

PS: also, will the other hero ships be more recognizable with proper textures?

Some missiles still get through, and i can tweak the health to make it so more get through, up the damage etc. Ill balance this so that cylon ships are still effective.

Can you elaborate what you mean by heroes being more recognisable?

For example, by giving the Galactica darker textures for the armor or the seal of the Twelve Colonies on top of her. You know, something which makes hero ships esthetically different from standard ships.

Wonder if we can get the full complement of flak guns instead of just those along the flight pods. Still great improvement, this will probably make the colonials even more powerful though, especially when combined with the electronic warfare packages.

Glad to be of assistance! i've spent many years experimenting with eaw/foc personally and i'm glad i could add something back to the community, really want to see this mod excel if i can think of anything else relevant i'll be sure to post rather than lurk in the shadows!

One of the problems with EAW these days, a lot of knowledge is held by individuals now that the sharing sites are dying off.

Yeah, In all honesty the issue I found most with doing this in my mod is that you somewhat need the missile models to have a collision box mesh to make them properly targetable/killable by anything other then splash damage.

I will obviously need to balance this... I can change the number of missiles that get taken out (and not all of are being taken out at the moment) by changing flak accuracy, increasing/decreasing health, changing missile speed etc so it can be balanced. I'm planning to add unguided missiles which will not be affected by the missile field to reduce the effectiveness of that and to dramatically increase the damage of missiles and nukes now that they can be countered

My thanks to jedimasterjason for making me realise that this was possible.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the flak barrier is now a fully realised reality!
It is now possible for missiles to be shot down as they fly in and all ships, on both sides, will actively target them with their flak guns as can be seen in this video. The finer details and balance is not yet worked out but nevertheless I'm very excited by this development.

Please note, the juddering in the video is caused by the recording software. The actual game you are watching played smoothly with very little lag.
