I love dwarves.
The only thing I don't like much is the fact he has a sword and shield, if he had the arkenstone it would definitely give a way better look to him.
Maybe have his powers be related to it. Summoning a royal guard, turn the enemies into allies with the arkenstone power and calling the armies of the dwarf lords.
Could thorin get his armour with a upgrade like the third film
