still working on the mortar halftrack.
the Danuvia 39M SMG is a unique Hungarian weapon. it was apparently a fairly tough and reliable weapon, and used a more powerful cartridge than the normal German SMGs in service at the time.
the M1 carbine will behave like a very weak machine gun attack and have a short range.
the halftrack shown here is to be armed with a mortar and a machine gun. it will be replacing the traditional USA artillery halftrack at the Mechanized HQ. all USA artillery units will be shifted over to a new Artillery Division HQ.
no problem. I did spell the name wrong. thanks for the correction.
no offense taken, that is the correct spelling. thanks for pointing that out.
How do you go about doing these changes? Is it in Nifskope? They look great.
With Blender as well.
theharkonnen makes the changes with Nifskope. thanks for the compliments.
Oh nice units XD I like them
About the mortal halftrack, it have both machinegun and mortal huh? So will it be able to use bombard command?
yes, you can bombard with this unit.
right now both the mortar bombard command and the .50 cal HMG both work. the downside is that in order to make this happen I had to use the machine gun code and then adding a projectile_ids. then I added the bombardment flag. everytime the mortar fires a round you'll see a machinegun flash and a mortar round sail up into the air and land on target. it's not perfect, but it gets the job done.
I've tried combining artillery based attacks with machine guns in the past and it's always failed. so this is the best solution I've come up with.
although historically this specific unit was only used by the US and Free French forces during the war-- we'll probably end up adding it in as a substitute for the M4 MMC and give it to some other countries as well.
(I've been wanting to add it into the mod for about two years now. up until a week or two ago I couldn't figure out how to make it work within the existing game code. so this is a nice breakthrough)
Breakthroughs are great, I had one this weekend also.
I found the NIF and DDS files for the Battleship Texas in the original game data/cutscene folder. I played around with it this weekend and after a little work I was able to get it operating properly with all five turrets in action, added AAA and unit deployment capabilities. Placed it into the metagame files and it works great in WWII rts.
cool. it's a huge model, if memory serves-- it might be the only original ship model that's even half the size it should have been relative to all the other stuff in the game. which is part of why I decided against using it LOL! but I'm glad you got it to work.
I am sorry to be the one to tell you this, Gizmotron, but I noticed that the Hungarian submachine gun that you mentioned in the picture has a spelling error. It says "Dunvia 39M" instead of "Danuvia 39M." I am sorry for mentioning this, but that is my two cents.
