a red cube happens when there is a missing model. this could be a model that is incorrectly named in the unit TGI file. it could be that the folder name is incorrect. the other possibility is that the model is simply missing altogether.

a missing skin will usually have a white/rainbow colored surface

a missing name will have <MISSING STRING>

a lot of units and regiments have the names and descriptions entered directly into the unit or regiment code. this was done to save time in the development process.

to make a correction I need the specific unit and the country it is associated with. examples include:
"GBR M7 GMC"

"USA M4E8 Sherman"

"HUN Panzer IV Ausf.H"

"THAI Bofors 105 mm gun"

Some fixed bugs: I made corrections to some red cube or mistextured CHI units, GER purple MGs, as well as I think some truck doodads and bridges. Also fixed all the mines and made AI less prone to suiciding their HQ trucks into the player/enemy. Files in the UV general channel in discord but I'll send them via PM instead if you want.

I need to do more Testing but my KV2 units were attacking a friendly AI's units for some reason and they were the only unit doing this intentionally I've seen.

Battles of Changsha Mission. I don't know if because of unit restrictions but given enough time and resources your Chinese AI allies will go all in on Aircraft units with all their resources and neglect not having many or any ground troops to take or defend anything leaving you to carry the mission out against the Japanese Steam rolling forces at that point.

Battle of Suomussalmi map has been fixed already. the Changsha map sounds like an SAI issue. I'd have to double-check that one. some generals are supposed to be using aircraft.

the battleships have longer reload times in general because I found that I could use battleships to obliterate an enemy inside of three minutes when I gave them their historical rate of fire. I didn't want to use a mana supply restriction. so, I settled on a compromise. they can lay down tremendous amounts of firepower, but have a long recharge time. in the WW2 game, when players had a large number of battleships on the map, it was possible to win the game inside of 90 seconds using nothing but battleships. all you had to do is have three of them bombard the center of the map and flatten the Corps HQ... which was pretty much always there.

that's why I have the longer reload time. the WW2 randomly generated maps don't have the option of using technology to reduce the attack values and attack range of battleships. don't expect this to be different in the next upload. if you wanted to increase the reload time you can always open up the text file and change the reload time frame to a smaller number.

I don't know why but I keep seeing the issue were my vehicle units when engaged with the enemy will instead target any nearby Allied Factions units instead dealing damage and possible killing them. It might be related to the fact that its when they are being attacked by an Regiment that outranges them they seek out an Ally but IDK.

I can't take any sort of corrective action on this last post. "vehicle units" is too broad of a category. "target any nearby Allied factions units" could be virtually anything. I need specific regiment names and specific unit names to take corrective action.

I fixed the British battleship that was crashing the game. there was a missing animation component. thanks for the feedback.

Canada Normandy mission victory trigger not working.

Also, Canadian Rocket Artillery was listed but it isn't present in the game anywhere that I can see.

When I was saying about the Friendly fire feedback, I have witnessed vehicle incorporated regiments, mostly tanks of my own, "Soviet and USA though I think it can happen to any nation's units" regiments target and attack another AI teammate's regiments friendly to me instead of attacking the enemy regiment that is attacking them.

friendly fire feedback is something where I need to know the exact unit name and country of origin. "USA M40 artillery tank" or "GBR M7 GMC" are examples. the only units where that should have ever taken place would be artillery units in the 4.1 and 4.3 uploads. the most recent file upload should not have this feature.

are you using an older version of the mod? did you install 5.0 over an older version of the mod? some of these things you're writing about shouldn't even be happening if you did a clean install of 5.0.

I was looking at the 5.0 data files for US artillery tanks the other day, as well as their light tanks. and there is nothing in the attack code that suggests that they would attack friendly units.

The Kv2 tanks targeted friendlies, and the USA Tanks were either the Sherman Easy 8 regiment or the assault gun sherman, can't remember.

Japan Northern China mission Victory trigger not working, probably some building/wall flagged as owned by northern china faction.

Chinese Panzer 1 Regiment DPS is to high its 35 damage per second, maybe increase reload to 3 seconds instead of one.

Battle of Shanghai Victory trigger not working, it says there is still someone alive but I wiped the map of all enemies..... I had to use the reveal map cheat to be sure

The Kamakazi planes don't use their suicide move and A lot of Japanese Engineer Artillery's defense structures don't work like the rocket bunkers, spigot mortar, 240mm bunker.

Battle of Nanjing as Japan victory condition not working, also mission has no tech restrictions

My game freezes on the Vichy France Cochina mission a lot, I don't know why it doesn't give any errors. Maybe it's a unit animation or texture IDK.

Italian mechanized/truck artillery can only attack air units.

wasnt sure to post something like this so i apologize if this is an annoyance, never really used a forum other than the occasional bit of gaming research

just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has worked on this mod, i played the crap out of this game back in the day, and it has been AMAZING to be able to come back and play it with this ridiculous amount of new content, particularly here in 2022. it is truly like playing an Axis&Allies 2. that being said, i wondered if you have a patreon or something to get support, id like to donate. i also have a couple of suggestions id like to make if thats alright, but again not sure where the right spot to post those is. thank you again :)

thanks for the encouragement and feedback. things have been pretty rough for me this year.

if you're talking about the developer map that depicts the Russians fighting Japan in Manchuria... I won't be including that map in the next upload. the fact that it was never included with the original game was a bit of a 'red flag'. the online community brought that to my attention years ago.

part of the problem with that map is that it has a large number of triggers that will be looking for regiments that no longer have the same units and layout. I'm not changing those regiments back just to make one map play through more smoothly.

to make matters worse, the map was depicted as jungle terrain! Manchuria is NOT a tropical region! I have a new custom-built map for Manchuria that will be included in the next upload.

as for the Cochinchina Uprising map freezing up... I'm not sure why that would be. it's always played through very smoothly on my regular computer. although, I must point out that sometimes I have to restart my computer because the game is running out of memory. the weirdest example of this is that certain buildings will start losing their building skins during prolonged gameplay. you might see a bunker or a depot that was skinned properly two missions ago will no longer have the appropriate skin... and will show up pink. I'll look at the Cochinchina map again.

Changsha Axis mission victory condition not working, and the Japanese AI just builds abunch of Industrial HQs for some reason

Wake Island mission seems unfinished and victory conditions don't work. Also Japan AI bugs out and doesn't build buildings in that mission

Also Malayan Axis mission both AIs enemy and Ally are brain dead AFKexcept for their airfields.

Axis Finland mission Suursari is a duplicate of the Bataan Peninsula mission

Axis Northern Burma mission is super laggy and buggy. Pretty much unplayable.

on the Pennsylvania Class Battleship - I believe one of these is for deploying regular infantry, the second is for deploying USMC regiments, and the third is possibly a duplicate DYNAMIC version that reproduces the metagame limitations. I've been meaning to rename the units so that players can tell the difference more easily. I suspect that if you put all three in a test map and play around with them... there will be some noticeable differences.

Gizmotron, you are correct, each one varies with what they Deploy and Deploy to Location mainly. I have broken out each variant below in case someone was interested and I also noticed some minor issues. The last Pennsylvania has redundant "USMC/LVT Armored Infantry Regiments" and the "Marine Artillery Infantry Regiment" has the multicolored cubes.

For the USA in Custom game, all battleships (Penn, Iowa, and South Dakota) can't Deploy any of the Marine units. Deploy to Location works though.
