Finland should have access to more captured Russian Regiment units and few Swedish and German armaments in their roster. Finland could use Russian AT guns of all sizes. Finland should get access to a "captured" KV2, T-28, and ISU 152 regiments late war. Russian Armored Cars and Komsomolets or Halftrack/T-20 should also be included for Finland. Finland got some Landsverk or Swedish weapons in their arsenal like the Landsverk Armored car, AA tank. Germans helped Finland get Rocket Artillery, towed nebelwerfers. Lastly Finland should have expanded artillery from 160mm, 300mm mortars, 25cm mortar and captured Soviet Railway Guns.

Most of if not all this stuff could be added using existing models in the game retextured.

Sweden already has an AA tank, though.

I tried to avoid units that didn't actually see combat... or where they only had a handful of them. although the armored cars and Komsomolets are a good suggestion. we didn't have a model for that until fairly recently.

Finland didn't have a lot of T-28s and ISU-152s if I remember correctly. in those sorts of situations, I would usually give the player a single regiment to play with until it gets destroyed. it adds a gameplay challenge.... because once you lose that regiment it can't be replaced. it also simulates the lack of spare parts and trouble getting the right types of ammo.

a similar example would be the captured M5 Stuart light tanks that Japan used during the fighting at Kohima and Imphal. rather than making it something that players can recruit from regular division tents... I intend to demonstrate this through single player campaign missions instead.

I plan to get rid of the Finnish mechanized division and lump all of the mech and tank units into the armored division. they were a largely infantry-based force. the plan is to have a Finnish/German division HQ and a captured Soviet division HQ. most of the mech units that were included in the "Forgotten Combatants" mod are based on arbitrary game play balance considerations and ignore the historical resources that were actually available to Finland at the time.

I'll go back and revisit Finland... they should have a full artillery division with eleven different regimental options based on the most common weapons.

Ok because currently there AI loses to Early war soviets in battles, the infantry focus doesn't help with them having little Anti tank and arty to deal with tanks in the early period, and the Ski troops aren't that great at helping out their nation.

Also, Sweden would have historically probably sold more of their armaments including vehicles to Finland if the Soviet invasion lasted a bit longer and threatened Norway the rest of Scandanavia. The Swedish AA tank was apart of Finland's arsenal.
